Really nice upgrade.

I noticed this film has a much higher bit rate than most of the other Columbia 4K titles in the box set.

As someone else pointed out the film has aged well.

While I don't pay much attention to the Oscars in a long time, I still think Lori Petty deserved an Oscar nomination for her role.

Reckless hyperbole?
NOPE!

Holy cow this one turned out to be totally reference for 35mm Scope. Amazing.

I'll put my thoughts on the movie itself aside, but no doubt the transfer itself belongs in the collection. Really great looking UHD. Plus, (however briefly) Téa Leoni!

BD100 and not a lot of "action".

I was particularly struck how great some of the baseball scenes look in what appears to be late afternoon where the sky is bright but more orange and the interior of the park is starting to get darker. Some nice "real life" natural contrast there I haven't seen captured very well on home video until now.

The Atmos remix is tasteful and opens up the film naturally as well.

still the set is super nice, high quality hard cover booklet, high quality velvety box, fantastic slip covers, heck it even smells nice, amazing masters, great encodes (went to BD100 or BD100+66 or two BD66 per movie when needed), for the price the box set is going for even if you only liked half the titles those three would still be the price many stand alone 4ks go for and if you want most of these, don't see the point in losing out on the incredible quality of this set and you'll probably end up paying more too, or same, at best

This entire set looks great, took a few seconds look here and there at each of them and just watched the full ALOTO, looked amazing! Gotta be one of the best looking 35mm transfers done. The hyperbole of all the reviews regarding the image and sound quality, not hyperbole at all. Great movie too.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen this movie and I had forgotten just how much I love this film. Penny Marshall is a great but it seems under recognized director.

Two Big Thumbs Up!!

It has "held up" remarkably well. I was impressed.

Jerry Maguire? Ooof.

So I get it. Discs mean reliable bitrate playback and better overall quality than streaming. But $40+ to buy the disc separate from the "collection" just isn't something I'm willing to do atm. iTunes has the 4K release with Atmos for $10. Has anyone looked at that "release" and seen how it looks? If it gets ANYWHERE near close to the 4K disc release, seems like a no brainer.

This is for a collector's market. We want it on the shelf and ready to play at any time and not to be a slave to when it is available etc...

For those that are unhappy that it is in a set, sure it may be broke apart later, but Sony did give great value for the price. I guess it comes down to how much you like the movies.

A League of Their Own and Jerry Maguire I feel are treated very unfairly.

JM is a great Cameron Crowe movie and it has all the right stuff.

A League of Their Own is a little rougher to me because of the older ladies clashing with the real people at the end. I say to myself, what is the point? The whole ending is very cheesy to me, and I would rather just have the credits with the real players. This is a small gripe, but one that bugs me nonetheless.

I was selling it for $25 each and, after the initial surge, they were going for $15-18. If the set is not sold out (which I have a feeling it's not), you can just wait. They'll be back up at normal prices.

There was far more interest in League, Jerry and Lawrence than any of the other 3.

This to me is quite sad, but true.

Though I think Dr. Strangelove will always be the best of the bunch. Kubrick is tops in my book.

This movie was the worst of the bunch for me, but still good. The only blind buy from the collection aside from Jerry Maguire.

So far my least favourite out of the set has been Dr Strangelove.

Hey it takes all kinds. I don't see Buffy and Dr. Strangelove mixing, but then again I like Buffy too so I just contradicted myself.

My wife could never get into the movie like A League of Their Own (but she too shares the dislike for the syrupy ending that isn't as convincing as the women before or after), but she shares the dislike for Dr. Strangelove. I am curious what your take is.

For her it is the bore of the satire and the seemingly nihilism of his style in that movie. The issue I have with that is because I think Kubrick cared that much that he makes a powerful statement that reflects to this day.

The whole box set speaks that way to me (though Ghandi is my weak one for me). I see a strange common link that is probably just in my head. Though if it isn't, I am glad Sony shares that view, and I want more like this!

The UHD was my first time seeing this movie. Loved the transfer and the movie. Surprised I'd never seen it before, but better late than never.
