I still buy DVD's, as long as they're under $10. I certainly wouldn't pay $19.99 or more for new release DVD's, when I know they'll be out on BD anyway.
Having said that, my PS3 does an absolutely amazing job of upconverting DVD and unless the PQ/AQ rating of it's BD counterpart is 4.0 or more, I won't spend the extra money. Unlike many of our esteemed and loyal members, I have other interests that deserve a few dollars of my limited resources) I'll give you an example. The "BRAVEHEART" DVD looks amazing on my upconverting PS3. When eventually it comes out on BD (and it will), the PQ rating better be 4.5 or 5, otherwise I'm not shelling out $25.00 + for a movie I already enjoy in it's current format. |

bought my first Blu-Ray DVD(s) the other day..... Got a total of 17 on the trip, so I would say "2001" was my FIRST Blu purchased, because that was the main one I wanted to make sure I didn't forget, with the exception of Blade-Runner, which they didn't have (that sucked)

Latest DVD: Road to Perdition
First Blu: 300 Latest Blu: Ordered Dog Day Afternoon/Deliverance I don't pay over $6 for a regular DVD and I don't pay over $10 for any special/collectors/multiple disc editions. New Releases that are are/will only on DVD are another story (The Darjeeling Limited, etc.). I normally don't pay over $15 for Blu's. Only certain titles will I buy day one of release and I try my hardest to never pay over $25. Last edited by The_End_88; 02-06-2008 at 08:15 PM. |

Last DVD was 'Hot Fuzz' only because I missed it in the theater and enjoyed the chemistry b/w the two male leads since 'Shaun of the Dead'.
First BD purchase was '300'. got it the same day as my ps3 and TV (sony xbr5 52") the last one i just recieved was 'wall st' but i'm eagerly waiting for 'across the universe' because I enjoyed it so much at the movies. |

First Blu-ray was Casino Royale. Last Blu-ray was Resident Evil: Apocalypse on tuesday. |
