A highly unusual response from Universal.

That support agent must be new

No... I wouldn't call it moaning either.... but I don't mind if you do.

lol I’d like to think I’m cast waves over there because I’ve sent god knows how many emails and sent lots of messages on social media, it’s probably to shut me up haha

My first encounter with Universal was an issue with Jurassic Park.

I hounded both them and Apple and eventually they both sought to silence me with redemption codes.

I just had the following message from Universal...” I had a confirmation from LA that the 4K digital format version of Jaws will be coming to the UK and should be live later this month. I will keep checking and see if I can get an exact date for you!”

Hopefully the Singapore store gets this at the same time.

Keep that communication open and ask about iTunes Extras.

Chopper, what email address are you using to contact Universal? Is it enquiriesuk@nbcuni.com?

I've never had any luck getting a response from this address in the 3 years I've tried.

Via Facebook messenger. I sent them loads of messages, I got in the mind set of Andy Dufresen (Shawshank), I knew they would give in eventually if I sent them a message everyday as I could see they were reading them. lol

Are you also called Chooper on that platform with that avatar?

Could be why they respond to you and dismiss the rest of us?

Haha great work!

I don't have Facebook, otherwise I'd try sending them a message or two. I might ask the wife if she'd do the honours.

When I review my US iTunes library, I can see 42 Universal movies that I couldn't get in the UK, because they're:

a. Not available (e.g. Bruce Almighty, End of Days, Slither...)
b. Not available in their unrated/extended cut (e.g. American Pie, Bridesmaids, Miami Vice...)
c. Not in 4K (e.g. Battleship, Bourne Identity, E.T. ...)
d. Available in 4K, but no Atmos audio (e.g. 1917, Oblivion, Pacific Rim: Uprising...)

It is bad, the disparity in availability between regions.

If you get a moment could you expand your list? I know some of those that are 4K only in the US store, but those lacking Atmos - like 1917 - I hadn't spotted and could easily have purchased in error.

Gladly, it’ll take a bit of time but I’ll try to do it this evening for you and anyone else who might find it useful.

Would people be interested in me perhaps making a specific thread which compares US and UK iTunes versions and identifies the best one to purchase based on format/cuts/versions etc.? I’ve done a lot of work on this previously and continue to every time I buy.

For instance, crazy one I found last week was that Twister is cut in the UK (swears removed) but not in the US!

I would find that quite useful.
