Everyone on r/steelbooks seems to think it's from Freddy vs Jason, and they're probably right. It sucks that the Nightmare franchise gets very little love from the studios. This could have been great and instead it's only kinda alright. I hope some of the other steels I have coming in the mail are better (content/artwork-wise).

Add me to the list of no digital code. I reported it on the Warner Bros Home Entertainment website and received an email asking for a pic/screenshot of my receipt and a pic of the opened steelbook with the case number they gave me written underneath it, which I did, so we will see.

Update: They emailed me back a code that they said expires in three days lol

Picked up the Steel today as I've never owned the original "Nightmare" on Blu before (and also because the Infinifilm DVD I have stopped working and that doesn't gel well with me) and, like everyone else, no digital copy insert. This is the second time this has happened with a Warner release and they never got back to me about it when I messaged about "Watchmen", so I'll try again in the morning.

In general, it's a nice Steelbook, but like others have pointed out, it reinforces a major issue with WB being in charge of "Nightmare": they keep using the wrong Freddy images to market the film. The front looks like it's using the glove from the remake, the back images are nothing but "Freddy vs. Jason" marketing shots and the inside is that iconic shot from "Dream Warriors", but nothing of Freddy himself from the original and that feels wrong. That said, after the controversy over the current "Psycho" release, it was nice to see WB actually included the original mono track on this rather than downgrading the DD EX track from the DVD (though did my ears deceive me or was there a change in the quality during the opening?).

Beyond sad. It shows how little they care. I still cringe seeing all the wrong images pop up in the menus of the current collection.

What a horrible release of this film yet again. They're going to keep doing this every year in time for Halloween until people stop buying this crap.

I just want a 4K release of the original film with the original poster art. That's all.

You'll get it but it will be in a regular plastic amaray case and slipcover. Not a SteelBook.

How long did it take them to get back to you? I e-mailed them about this on Wednesday morning and still haven't been contacted about it.
