Just pre-ordered from Wow-HD. Even if it isn't a new scan, it'll hopefully look at least a notch better than my DVD! Same as others here, I hope Paramount will release The Shootist next. It's long overdue.
Does anyone know who's got the rights to Three Godfathers these days? Would love to see that one released too! |

"Funeral in Berlin" is also still advertised as a Blu-ray Disc on amazon. There is no mention at all of it being a BD-R, at least I can't see anything with my cellphone browsers, I checked both the mobile site and the full site.
The only difference to "Katie Elder" is that amazon doesn't show the back of the case of "Funeral" but they do show the back of the "Katie Elder" cover and it clearly shows a Blu-ray logo. So I'm sure if amazon would ship BD-Rs returning them wouldn't be a problem. Still I ordered the new Paramount titles from deepdiscount. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. |

For those hoping for The Shootist and other Wayne films, I'm sure the popularity of this disc will lead to those releases in the near future. |

Well, I've pre-ordered The Sons of Katie Elder and The Two Jakes from Amazon, both of which are currently scheduled for September 15. If they're BD-Rs I'll try to come back and let everyone know. What are the telltale signs? Different coloring on the data side?

Fair enough. But I was never one of the ones pimping the “BD-Rs from Amazon, pressed discs everywhere else” theory. I was just saying that I’ll update the thread for confirmation as there still seems to be a bit of hesitance from some people to lock in a purchase before street date. Just trying to be neighborly.

My copy from BullMoose shipped out yesterday alongside Roman Holiday and Flying Leathernecks. Can't wait to get this one as its another one I never thought get to BluRay. Now hopefully we can get The Shootist in time for Christmas or I can hope.

Mine shipped early and I watched it tonight... and it was pretty disappointing. PQ is barely above a DVD. There's only minor signs of damage here and there, and it's a nice clean image, but it's just grain-less and soft throughout with no fine detail.
