That's what I figured. It seems the Arrow version has all the same stuff and much more? Right?

Do these Arrows ever go on sale?

The Last Starfighter is $27... is that a different kind of Arrow Edition? It's hard to tell since Amazon doesn't list the List Price any more.

Default Simply beautiful

I saw Silent Running on a broadcast late late show when I was a teenager, before we even had cable or a vcr. I wound up staying up till 1am glued to the screen on a school night. Slow paced, quiet, amazing and moving. Absolutely worth a double dip to get a treatment that does it justice.

It's $27.99 marked down from $39.99, standard Arrow release pricing. Arrow sales are not uncommon but US-only editions rarely fall below $20.

They have 50% off sales fairly frequently at multiple retailers, but not likely for a few months after release unless B&N decides to have a 50% sale this November.

Target's recent B2G1 free sale is a way to get most of them a little less than 50% off. -- I ordered Slaughthouse Five, TLS, and a non Arrow title last week for basically $18 ea.

Deep Discount with a 15% code can often get them close to $20. TLS is $25 and Silent Running $26 on Deep Discount -- there are some 10% codes I think, but no 15% off for now.

The ArrowUK titles are frequently £7.50-10 though not very cost efficient ordering one at a time. Last Starfighter and Silent Running are ArrowUS Exclusive (or US/Can) since other companies have license rights in the UK, so no help for those 2 item..

I thought this movie was something I dreamt up when I was kid but I knew I saw it at some point in my youth on television. No one in my family believed me when I tried to explain the narrative. They thought I was crazy.

My brother would always tell me that it was Disney's The Black Hole but I still swore it wasn't that lmao

I'm glad this movie does exist though and I'm NOT crazy lol

As a fan of both movies, they are clearly very different narratives, but I admit there is something about their tonal quality that could make them spiritual film siblings.

Love it when that happens. I had 2 movies like that.

I remember watching part of a movie(s) probably late 60's/early 70's on the Sci Fi Saturday Morning TV Matinee movie.

First movie I had nightmares for years of being chased down the road by rock monsters that would grow and fall, smash, and grow into massive rock formations again. It took decades to find out it wasn't a dream when Universal released the Laserdisc boxset of SciFi Movies with The Monolith Monsters on it.

The other probably from teh same Matinee series I still haven't been able to identify 100% involved some sort of machine/time travel (or Hypnosis/mind projection in time) and a guillotine with people travelling back to Middle Ages France and having to do something and get out of the past and back to their current body before being beheaded for Witchcraft or Heresy. One of the people wasn't able to and was beheaded in the past, but also in the present. The plot is at best fragmented and I've been given a couple names of movies, but never actually gotten around to watching them to see if they fit. I'm not even 100% sure if it was a movie or some episode TV anthology

I could never find out what it was though someone told me it sounded like a Roger Corman movie The Undead, but I don;t think that was it and was never able to confirm it before I went on to other things.

Any possible chance you're talking about "The Reign of Terror" episode from DOCTOR WHO?

Pretty sure not not. I'm rather sure my area would not have had Doctor Who reruns at that time. Other than the Guillotine, they rest of the summary doesn't sound right.

If I had to bet the setting was probably further back than early 1800's. It's could even have been an Ax instead of Guillotine -- there was a head and a basket and the end scene was in the Modern Lab (OK 50's 60s) showing one of the characters who didn;t make it back without a head (no blood of course)

Not going there, but a few years ago I did have a couple promising leads, but the forum where I was given the information no longer has those threads adn posts and of course I forgot the names.

One of them seemed like it was extremely promising based on IMDB search, but I never could find it on any streaming, youtube, or disc based service

Could it be Vincent Ward's The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey?

That one I'm 100% it wasn't. I have that one, but this would have been no later than 1970-ish and I strongly suspect this film would have been mid 50's- early 60's since that's the type film this series concentrated on -- B and C level titles on a good week. I was going to say Black and White, but I can't remember if I was even watching on a color TV.

Are these Arrow Sales specifically? Which retailers?

Thanx!

DiabolikDVD, Grindhouse, MVD, Bullmoose, Family Video, BestBuy has had a couple. Barnes and Noble was having them twice a year, but skipped what would have been this summer (?Covid related, ? new owner, ? business decision). I guess we'll see in early November if BN will have an Arrow sale concurrent with the Criterion sale like in 2018 and 2019

Deep Discount codes are are sent in the mail
If you sign up for their newsletter I think they'll send a one-time 10% off code.
The Deals section Deep Discount threads usually has the most recent ones.

I think PLUNGE and DEEP10 10% codes appear active right now
The last 15% code expired 10/15. I'd expect at least a couple new 15% codes between now and BF

I was in day one on the last release....
I'm not double dipping this unless there is a huge sale.

Why can't arrow just go 4K with this one?

Arrow sale is live at B&N and works for preorders, so I'm scooping this one up!
