I get what this movie was going for. That's not the point. I just don't know how y'all can be so casual about it. Even people I know who actually seen the movie were grossed out.

Easy, because we are level headed people (I hope) and don't feel the need to be outraged at everything to the point that we are pathetically screaming it out with posts in a movie forum thread or on a particular social media platform.

What will happen with the movie will happen regardless of what I say and do, and there's not a single thing I personally can do about it whether I choose to act like a fool about it or not.

I had no intention of seeing the movie anyway, the whole plot and premise doesn't cater to me. And even with the extra controversy, it doesn't change the fact that it still doesn't interest me at all. And this is coming from me who is a curious person who usually watches "controversial" movies to see what all the fuss is about.

Sometimes I'll watch a movie and won't even realise there's actually an issue with the movie until after I've already seen it (Mulan being the example here, which I still enjoyed regardless).

I see no need to kick up a fuss over the controversy surrounding this to try to score brownie points to show others that I stand for the right thing. I stand for the right thing most of the time anyway, without resorting to making myself look like a fool in doing so.

There's nothing wrong with me. I'm old enough to know that it is wrong but I am also wise enough to not see a need to be making posts like:

"OMG THIS MOVIE HAS SEXUAL EXPLOTATION OF CHILDREN GRRR THIS IS SO WRONG AND BAD IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY ARGGHHH BUT WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT..."

I'd rather not make myself look like a fool with posts like that. Yes, exploiting children in movies is wrong, I never said it wasn't. But ultimately, what would my posts on it actually do for the movie? My thoughts conveyed here won't get the movie taken down from Netflix. I have no requirement to make childish posts like that regarding the controversy when I already know it's wrong and whatever actions taken against the movie will still happen regardless of anything I say in this tiny corner of the internet we call blu-ray forum.

Maybe there's something wrong with you? After all, you clearly didn't understand anything I said properly.
