Mine has shipped from Zavvi, the previous status was "Stomping on Packages" whatever that meant.

The new 4k master definitely looks much better than the old HD master. But I cannot help myself. I like the "theatrical print" look of the older BDs. It gives the movie a Grindhouse look that helps selling its dirty and gritty outback atmosphere. So I am perfectly satisfied with my Umbrella BD and will not upgrade.

For this very reason, I'll be keeping my Umbrella if I decide to upgrade.

How many features are exclusive to this release in comparison to the Umbrella?

It's a pretty affordable release and damn stacked as far as an upgrade goes, but a lot seem familiar from the Umbrella release

Exclusive to this release are the following:

- Audio commentary with writers and programmers Anna Bogutskaya and Olivia Howe (2020)
- Trouble Bound (2020, 13 mins): appreciation by film historian Neil Sinyard…
- And His Ghost May Be Heard (1973, 15 mins): rare short film directed by Franklin
- Limited edition exclusive 80-page book with a new essay by Lee Gambin, archival interviews with Franklin, Keach and Curtis, Franklin’s 1980 Alfred Hitchcock obituary, an overview of contemporary critical responses, Mark Hartley on …And His Ghost May Be Heard, and film credits
-Limited edition exclusive double-sided poster

The rest is a mix from the Umbrella and Scream Factory release. I would say that considering how comprehensive the release is and the price, I would definitely go for it.

Went ahead and ordered this along with Buffalo Bill from the indicator website. Was in two minds about ordering it, wasn't entirely sure, looks good but I'm bloody skint and have had to limit myself to stuff I really want, like Buffalo Bill.

A blind buy for me, so I hope it's good, does look good.

Well, no plans to pick up the SF release at any point, so between those you listed and any from SF, I’m sold!

If you actually compare the screenshots, there is quite the difference between the Umbrella release and the new Indicator one, with the Indicator one coming out clearly on top!

I wonder with these technical reviews, which appear so scientific if they really are...
Anyway I don't have Roadgames in any format, so it is a no-brainer to get Indicator's very decent release. To be honest it would take a lot of convincing for me to buy a different release of a film already have a blu ray for. The last time I did this for "kind hearts and coronets" didn't turn out very worthwhile.

Mondo Digital has screenshots of both versions (Indicator and Scream Factory, the latter being identical to the Umbrella release) that one can open in new tabs and compare directly.

The difference is substantial, and it’s obvious to me that the Indicator version uses a better master.

I was dissapointed when I saw the review on here, cause I sold my Umbrella disc for this new Indicator set.
But yeah, seeing these screenshots, I am glad I did. Looks much better. That super-contrasty image which you get from scanning filmprints is gone and the Indicator looks a lot more pleasant.
