You can back it, but won’t qualify for a reward.

Thanks!

Also, got a question over at Facebook that I'd like to post here in case anyone else has the same question:

QUESTION:

Does the $70,000 have to be reached exactly to restore the shorts?

ANSWER:

No, we will still restore them, but the $70K has to be reached to:

1) give them the best possible restoration
2) to make sure we preserve them as quickly as possible
3) to get the shorts released more quickly on Blu-ray
4) to have the price point be less expensive
5) to increase the chances of us eventually releasing the silent Rascal shorts

New Restoration Comparison Clip

Thanks to all who have backed this project so far!

We're approaching $10K pledged and have posted a new video to display just how stunning the difference is between the way the Rascals look on the current DVD collection and how they will look when our restorations are done.

Take a look at the this "Current DVD vs. ClassicFlix Restoration" comparison of the 22nd Rascal short DOGS IS DOGS, then share and post as much as possible to make this project a reality.

Default DVD to ClassicFlix Restoration Comparison

For those who haven't pulled out their Little Rascals DVD Collection lately and have forgotten just how poor the presentation is, it might be difficult to see a need to support this project. The ^^above^^ video makes the case very clearly.

Please pledge, post & share to make this project a reality.

I have never seen any of these—though of course I am familiar with the Little Rascals, as they are pretty iconic. I think it's great you are restoring these important films and saving them for future generations. I also think the crowdsourcing is a great way to reach wider audiences. I, for one, probably would not have bought this set had you just simply put it up for sale/pre-order, simply I rarely blind buy titles. But after watching the Indiegogo videos and campaign, and knowing the funding will also potentially save more films, I couldn't resist putting in a pledge. Really looking forward to these! Thank you, ClassicFlix!

Thank you Dave from classic flix. I plan on backing this project. Just 3 questions
1). Let’s say you were able to raise more than 70,000 and hit something like 120,000 , would we still need to pay the 50$ or above perk again to get volume 2 and 3

2) Do you have access to all of the silent shorts that are available. I believe maybe 24 of them survived. Is your set definitive.

3) and finally is it possible to add a perk where if you pledged 100.00 it would include Zenobia and A night in Casablanca.

Thanks for all you do. I have Africa Screams and you guys did a great job

George Lucas donated to the Laurel and Hardy UCLA restoration project. I saw his name in the sons of the desert credits on the new blu ray. Can someone contact him, maybe he would be interested in making a donation. He can afford it !!!

wow, coincidentally i just binged two weeks a go all my Little Rascals/Our Gang dvds from RHI / Warner Archive from beginning of the sounds Small Talk(1929) to Tale of a Dog (1944)! This is great news. I swear though the silents really need attention as their hasnt been a collected release of them since maybe the VHS days. Im guessing the talkies prints and negs are in better shape than the silents. Been a fan since the Family film festival days on KTLA Sat and sunday morning and afternoons with tom hatten! I even remember that near my grade school Jack in the Box was running some kind of Little Rascal/Our Gang Promotion at their restaurants, where they had surviving members make appearances at the them. I think Darla hood was at the one near mine, does anyone remember this in the Los Angeles area proabaly in the early-mid 70's

“We would call them to say, ‘Colored people are on TV! Colored people are on!'” The only black child she was ever likely to see telecast was the unflattering role model Buckwheat on the ancient “Little Rascals” comedies, Winfrey added."

so take what you will of that but I don't predict her being so fond of these shorts.

Thanks for asking and thank you for your support of our label!

Answers below.

1) The more we go over the more likely we could expand the set to include another disc which would include another 10 - 12 shorts (with 80 shorts over 2 volumes instead of 3). However, we'd have to raise at least $35K over to make that happen.

2) We have licensed all the silents that are still under copyright. We have material access to most of those, as well as some of PD silents.

3) Not yet released, both ZENOBIA and A NIGHT IN CASABLANCA to the $250 pledge level, but won't be adding them to the $100 level.
