I've seen the first 4 so far and I still like it.

I also don't think that it's boring or slow as it is a series after all and they can afford to take the time and tell a story properly without condensing it down. I also don't feel that any action is missing.

All they've shown so far is migration of Europeans from one part to another, not much else has happened.

I was expecting more since it stars Sam Elliott, but we'll eventually get there.

This show is somewhat of a slow burn.

I'm still enjoying it, but just like Yellowstone..it takes a couple episodes before anything major happens.

Without Sam Elliott, I'd be bored.

I still need to try and get through the first episode. I turned it off during that horrible wagon chase scene about 10 minutes in. I really like Sam Elliott. Is he in the show enough or is it mostly Tim and Faith ?

After watching Ep. 5 last night, I couldn't figure out where I saw her before. Then it hit me, she was Veronica, the girl Georgie was chasing, on Young Sheldon! So she went from a show set in the 1980's to one set in the 1880's!

Cool. I don’t watch that show, but I’m happy to see her on this one,

For now. I wonder how long he'll be in it after the TV-MA Oregon Trail storyline wraps up. At this rate, it might take two seasons though.

[Show spoiler]Sucks they killed off the cowboy boyfriend, but not surprising. I wonder if Elsa got pregnant, because in the 1883 flashforward stuff in Yellowstone's flashbacks, there was a kid younger than Faith and Tim's (I don't know anybody's names yet lol) son. I always assumed they had another kid sometime after this but now it could be Elsa's

Is Elsa pregnant? Is Elsa John Dutton's mother?

Episode five has for sure changed the series from what it was to what it's becoming now.
[Show spoiler]Elsa didn't torture the bandit enough, he deserved more.

But from that point on, we see she's not a naive, clueless little girl anymore. She's awake now.

If you search for the Dutton Family Tree on Google, there is nothing under Elsa. So, not sure if she even survives. It's the youngest son of Tim McGraw's character that the Dutton's in Yellowstone are born from.

The next episode is due to be released in two weeks and honestly, I'd rather take that (or preferably weekly), but not release an entire season all at once like Netflix does.

Sucks about the week break though.

Doesnt the series open up with her being shot with an arrow ? Meaning I guess she does die. Sucks because she is the best character on the show.

Yes it opens with an Indian attack on the caravan and her getting shot in the stomach, so chances are she is unable to have kids post that point if she survives.

I typically watch stuff once it's all done because I'm not going to subscribe for something that long but I've been watching it with somebody else lol Plus the show has only had 5 episodes and has already taken two weeks off. This is streaming, there is no need for breaks and midseason finales. They're just trying to stretch it to make people subscribe an extra month for one episode I guess.

Who knows when that takes place though, but in Yellowstone 408 they showed a flashback that was later in the 1883 timeline (John seems to be 12-14ish) and seemingly involved James' death... Margaret tells Spencer to get some water, but Elsa isn't around. So she must die sometime between, or the arrow wasn't fatal and she gets married and is just not around. Possible that Spencer is actually her son, and is being raised by her parents either so her reputation isn't ruined (it being 1883 and all) or due to her death (during childbirth if the arrow wasn't fatal, or from the arrow after his birth).

I don't think the tree is totally correct. It says Claire is Margaret's sister, but Dawn Olivieri is credited as "Claire Dutton", so unless she's James' sister and went back her maiden name after her husband died, she must have been married John's brother to be a Dutton... which would make sense because her daughter is "Mary Abel Dutton," her accent is nowhere near the other two.

Technically there isn't, but binge watching a show can ruin the flow and the experience in itself.

Like, Cobra Kai season four was available all at once and good as it was, I watched two episodes per day so that I wouldn't tempt myself to run through it all in one day.

I find the opposite, you pick up on more nuance and details being able to watch it soon after. Nothing kills a detail like it showing up in episode 1 or 2 and then nothing coming from it until episode 10 or 20. Just look at Gravity Falls and all their callbacks. Then throwing in needless breaks doesn't help.

Though I don't watch a full season in a day... unless it's something short in runtime and/or episodes. (like a 30-minute 6-episode show). I don't trust people who have enough time to watch a show with 10 1-hour episodes lol

More like that's all they had ready. Post houses are still slammed because of COVID with most still trying to work from home. Not to mention scoring and sound mixes.
