weirdly enough, I did receive my 4K steelbook of Super 8 despite Target removing it from their site a month or so ago.

Just bought up my copy at Best Buy. 2 copies when I got there but after I bought mine, an employee bought the other copy. Had to ask the employee to get them out of the back room. Not on the shelf as usual.

Just picked one up at Best Buy and cancelled my Target order. BB had 2 copies, but the guy couldn’t find it using the SKU above.

Canceled my Target order as well and went to the Best Buy in Burbank where they had seven copies on the shelf. To top things off, the guy who rang me up thanked me for supporting physical media.

Target preorder (made 2.5 months ago) delayed until June 8-16, status changed to “Backordered”. Customer service offered no information or assistance.

Been collecting steelbooks since they were only on DVD and this is the weirdest release I can remember. Glad I came back to checking out these forums or else I would not have a clue what happened.

It was also so weird that I went to local BB after work and they also had exactly 2 copies. I rarely run out to catch steelbooks anymore because they are so much more accessible but I had to check "wtf is going on?" and could not believe it was the same scenario as other posts.

So...in the end...thanks for posting your experiences!

For those wondering, I'm pretty sure this will become more widely available sometime soon. Curious wth happened here though.

What a weird release for this…30th anniversary of a huge movie, and it’s not available anywhere… I found one at Best Buy on my lunch today, on the other side of the new release stand. Was the only copy in the store. I wonder if it’s limited or if they had production issues or something.
