Yeah they have over 20k orders to send out. They’re probably finishing up subscribers right now and then will focus on flash preorders, but who gets shipped first random.

No time to view the disc yet, but I'm new to Vinegar Syndrome (first purchase, not a subscriber) and so the packaging is new enough to comment on. I knew from the onset I wouldn't like the case artwork, but it does seem to be in keeping with Vinegar Syndrome's signature style, and that's certainly a matter of taste, take it or leave it. As far as the non-artwork aspect of the packaging goes, the box is very nice and deluxe-feeling, but actually getting to the disc takes way too many steps for my taste. It's a 10 for presentation, but a 2 for practicality: the point of a disc is to watch it.

The standard UHD case buried deep inside the deluxe packaging has both the UHD and Blu-ray (an option I like to have), and the cover art here is reversible, giving you the option of the more standard artwork you'd be familiar with from movie posters and the DVD. Again, this is an option I like to have.

I'm happy that people enjoy this film. It was not my bag of tricks, unfortunately.

Heh yeah I enjoyed it the first time I saw it on DVD. Still had it on my hard drive, tried on 3 different nights to watch it, couldn’t stay awake. Money saved in this case.

FWIW, I like this film. IMO, if all you really have going into the film are a cinematographer, a stuntman, and a band, this is kindof the best thing that can come out the other end. It's pretty, it's funny, and it probably helps immensely that I really like the Red Elvises. If you don't dig the music, you're probably in for a world of hurt.

Part of the film is the audacity of the thing, so that part doesn't stand up as well to repeat viewings. And the kid. Well, the kid nearly kills it before it gets going, that goes without saying. But as long as he's better than Anakin, I can deal.

Anyway, I can recognize why people might not like this, or even why people may not want to own it/watch it more than once. But apparently I'm a Vegemite achiever, because I just keep getting charmed by it. The visuals are great (and deserving so much more than it got on DVD), the music is a load of fun, and it's got enough humor and action in between to string the visuals and the music together.

It's not Citizen Kane. This is a Vinegar Syndrome film.

It's just a stylized, oddball wasteland movie with a cool name from a pulpy indie era. I don't understand what the problem is.

I've never seen this but I don't ever remember anyone hyping this film other than Harry Knowles of Ain't it Cool News back in the late 90's. I might pick this up at some point.

Have to say, the Six String kid's looking better and better.

I'm also from the AICN old days, watched it on DVD at the time because of them. I thought it was OK, it didn't "wow" me, and I generally like this kind of movie. Wouldn't mine re-watching it again to re-evaluate it if it shows up on streaming.

I can't lie, I am dying to watch this movie, hype levels overflowing. Before I got the Tammy and the T-Rex disc plenty of people said it was a garbage film, but I loved it, I even watched both cuts the same night. I think Vinegar really knows how to pick em.

What a underwhelming film. Good thing I do not blind-buy because I do not see myself re-watching this.
