lol at Kosty claiming 3 local CC's have them on normal reorder status. Did he ask them? Would they tell him the truth? Or is he a Tosh Employee? Would CC tell him?

CC, like any of the major chains, would get their stock from an internal corporate distribution system, no? So the DC would be the one to discontinue orders at a certain point and then tell teh stores "no mas."

My CC by me also has clearance tags on all HD DVD players as well. The HD DVD section of their movies is now down to 2 shelves when it use to be 8. There has been no announcement of 4th gen players either. I still keep asking, what is Paramount and Universal doing?

I think its base on store managers discretion to have clearance on products that don't sell well. HD

I don't know what Circuit City's return policy was for items around Christmas, but I was just thinking yesterday that if Best Buy's was 30 days after Christmas, then we just passed it. Could have been 30 days past the end of the year, but I'm not sure. I figured we might start to see more movement at retailers after the window to return things bought for Christmas ended, but some of them may want to wait until 30 days after the price drops on those Toshibas so that any returns will be at the lower prices (where the store would take less of a hit). That would be around February 12th for a place with a 30 day return policy, since I think the new prices went into effect January 13th. For a place with a 15 day return policy, we would be pretty close to hitting that since the price drop.

Confirmed at my local cc!

They specifically used the term clearance and even warned me that hd dvd is losing the format battle!

These M$ fans are so used to their equipment breaking, they need to buy a backup, for when they have to ship their units in for repair...

I guess if you pay half as much, you should not be surprised that it last half as long
