Yeah I have to say, everyone who is here posting those types of complaints about users complaining, should very well know a lot of people despise the book packaging used in many territories for the Hitchcock 4K book and specifically posted they would not buy it because of that and the consequences of disc damage, so it should not come as a surprise lots didn't buy it.

Definitely going to grab all 3 even if they don't have the film titles. I do wish Zavvi (or anybody in the UK) would get the Psycho steelbook with original art-work though, I've still held off the first Psycho steelbook.

Honestly gloss would look cheap on this release. Spot gloss would have been sweet though. I like the matte. The Birds was fairly normal, but it was solid. I ordered from .com and mine came perfect recently.

I actually agree re. spot gloss. My issue isn’t the matte finish, per se. it’s the cheap looking matte on US Universal steelbooks. I bought the CX media slip box versions for Psycho and The Birds, and even though I put the US steelbooks in the slip boxes (because I prefer having the movie title on the front), the higher quality matte on the South Korean steelbook really looked nice on The Birds.

Oh yeah for sure, I agree with you. But it would be even worse with low-quality gloss. I know some people complain about damage, but I have NEVER seen more damaged steels than the low-quality gloss on the Pixars. Dear god it was the deal of the decade price-wise, but trying to get non-damaged ones was almost impossible. I took back quite a few, and on some lesser titles just had to take a little damage. Partially due to how many they had, but very much due to weak paint.

You can see the ripples a little on the paint for The Birds, but it's nothing new to me, though, that one does look a little cheap. Definitely a lower quality paint on The Birds, but it still looks okay for the 18 I paid.

I don't want to pay any more than 18 and tax on these ones for sure. I hope I can wait until a sale, so if they will have more or less stock this time for the next couple I might not get that IDK.

I never touched the last few Pixars that never went on sale including WALL E, so I still have those to collect or at least a disc to put in my wildly superior Zaavi's from way back.

Which is what I've been telling people for years but they still think it's from cardboard mailers and too large boxes without sealed airbags.

Are you guys ever allowed to complain to the distributor or manufacturer on being sent damaged items?

I know best buy management doesn’t seem like they would care aboiut damaged items like steelbooks but the amount of rising damaged steelbooks has me concerned
