Meh. I refuse to be beholden to the whims of studios when it comes to packaging.
Yuppers. If I already have a set or case that I like, I have no problems swapping the contents.

I have the 10 disc Halloween set, so it's not that big a deal for me. I can go either way. Having individual 4ks might look nicer, but putting everything in the 10 disc case would save space.

For the big sets I do have, like F 13, Omen, etc. I definitely will sub in any 4K discs that happen to come out and store the original blus elsewhere.

That mentality also helps with terrible packaging. I put all the Mission Impossible tv series blu ray discs into the corresponding dvd slimlines since I already had every season. The dvd packaging is so much better with the glossy cases and slimlines.

I actually plan on doing the same with the UHDs; adding the UHD discs to the box set (and any of the Blu-Rays that are improvements over the ones already in the box set).

It did.

It was something that took me a while to do, but I finally got over it and did it. I started with the Halloween box set, adding extra stuff like the theatrical cuts of the Zombie films and the 25 Years of Terror doc, and switching out "outdated" discs. That led to me making custom combo packs of movies that I had different Blu-Ray releases of (or a Blu-Ray and a DVD with different extras). Certainly helped me with saving shelf space...

I honestly feel like, assuming this all pans out and is legit, that Halloween 5 is also coming, and just hasn't been leaked yet.

I just don't see Scream Factory putting in the effort to get the rights to only get two of the three films from Trancas. Yes, I know Halloween 5 isn't very well liked, but SF already has a number of extras available from the box set they could use. Not to mention I feel like they learned their lesson in "dismissing" certain titles due to perceived quality, back when they got backlash for dismissing Psycho IV as a title they'd ever release (and eventually released it themselves).
I'm hoping you're right. I never got around to the big box set since I had the titles I wanted already, but then regretted it later because I'd love to have all the extras produced for it- I'd love for these 4K's to recycle those... Then I could stop scouring Ebay, trying in vain to find them for less than 500 bucks.

Does anyone own the official Silver Shamrock masks from Trick or Treat Studio? I just ordered the pumpkin and skull masks on eBay for $45 each. I hope they are of excellent quality.

I have the pumpkin mask! It's high quality but the only complaint I have is the mask is too small to wear. It appears to be child size

Oh, I hope I purchased the right size. I didn’t know the masks are small. In the film Cochran was able to put the mask on Challis’ head lol.

Right! I double-checked the amazon listing and it says "one size" let me know how yours are when you get them.

Funny, thinking about it, I have never seen them at Spirit Halloween.

I’m hearing the end of September. “Halloween” ‘78, “Halloween II” ‘81, “Halloween III: Season of the Witch” ‘82, and “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers” ‘88 are coming from Shout! (Scream) Factory. All of the films are 4K UltraHD discs with existing extras from previous releases. “Halloween” ‘78 will have the original mono soundtrack done in Dolby TrueHD which was only available in the previous released boxsets. My source always informs me that the bonus disc from the previous released boxset will be available in these releases. I assume that the extras on that bonus disc will be available on each of the individual releases to coincide with each film.

From what info I’ve received is that the rights for 5-8 are not secured as of yet for 4K UltraHD releases. I’m sure that 5-8 will come soon after.

If you’re allowed to say, do you know if they’re going to have some sort of packaging that houses all four films together, or is it just going to be individual slip covers?

These are going to be similar releases, like “They Live” and “Prince of Darkness”. More likely they’ll have slipcovers as well. “The Fog” and “Escape From New York” are coming as well. “The Thing” was on their radar, but Universal did it before SF could work on it.

So they’re going to be released with 7” vinyls like They Live and Prince of Darkness were?

Oh, man! The whole bonus disc with the extras for 4, 5, 6 & 7 with the Horror's Hallowed Grounds Eps? I'll be over the moon if I'm not misreading you and it pans out...

I think they were saying the content of the bonus discs will be with their respective films now. The extras for Revenge onward won’t be on these new releases.

For completists sake, here is a list of notable stuff that was missing from Scream's releases:
  • Audio commentary with Stephen Jones and Kim Newman (UK DVD)
  • 40 Years of Terror: Halloween III Panel Discussion (No official release, but the full panel recording is on YouTube)
  • Joe Bob Briggs’ MonsterVision - Halloween III segments (No official release, but the footage is readily available on YouTube)
  • Halloween III by Éric Peretti (from the French Blu-Ray by Le Chat Qui Fume; not exactly sure what this is as I don't own the disc)

Additionally, the GoodTimes VHS and DVD releases from 1998 also featured an alternate audio mix than has been released on subsequent releases. It's most notable during Marge's death sequence.

I’m interested in listening to the commentary by Stephen Jones and Kim Newman. I enjoyed their commentary on the Amityville 2 and 3 DVDs. Is there site that has it? I think the UK DVD is now out of print.
