That’s been circling around for months. I’ve seen fan mock ups better designed than that.

For those that don't believe this is the actual art because of how bad it is just remember that WB is the studio putting this out...it is probably worse in reality.

I think the mock-up floating around looks amazing and would love that to be the packaging, looks beautiful. Maybe touched up a bit more, but I like the spines on the cases, and being able to configure the packaging in multiple ways would be awesome.

Already got burned by the first 4K release. Not buying these ever again unless a proper 4K master is done.

I don't think any of the images floating around right now are the actual design. Even the one posted on the first page has been shared before in the other LOTR thread. Though if this is truly coming out in October we should get the official press release soon.

They're doing a new remaster?

Nothing announced so far, just me hoping they will eventually since there is ample room for improvement.

From your lips to god's ears. Hope you're right, but I'm doubtful.

Considering that remasters for these huge tent poles roll around when new generations of physical media arrive it’s going to be a long long long time before the studio and PJ touch these again.

In fact I don’t think it’s far off to say these will never be remastered again, and certainly never again on physical media.

If they're still remastering The Wizard of Oz, they'll eventually do something with these again. But, right, probably not for physical media.

Usually prices dwindle down as the set gets closer and closer to release. Also prices are usually unrealistically high for these pre-press release 'announcements'. Wolf Of Wall Street is currently supposed to be $57 dollars yet there is no way that price will even make day one.

I want the best version that they can release that warrants the “Ultimate” qualifier in the name of the edition.

Any confirmation if this set will fit on shelves?

With all the extra stuff they might include that we probably don't need like the key and lava replica things, I can see the set being priced over $200.

The only way they can impress me at that price tag is if they include a 1:1 replica of Sting (Bilbo's sword) and they include the bonus features from previous box sets (which I unfortunately skipped in the hopes of a 4K release to begin with)
