Just popping in to say Bull Moose is currently selling this for $35.97 with free shipping and no tax for all but two states. Not bad for five movies and what I personally feel are great extras, more than I expected (to be honest, I don't need critical/historical/educational or other typical bonus features for these movies). Anyway, this comes out to be $7.20 per movie.

Can you believe that with the g.d. tax Amazon charges me it only winds up being about a dollar less than the Bull Moose price. Eff it, I would rather give Bull Moose the business and also I get points there. But I'll still keep an eye out for more discounts. I think it's a great price for this set.

I was curious about the PG-13 rating for The Love God because it obviously didn't exist when the movie came out. I checked the film ratings website and it looks like Universal submitted it for a rating in 1996 for its VHS release:

TITLE: Love God, The (1996)
RATING: PG-13
CERTIFICATE #: 22002
REASON: Rated PG-13 for sex-related material.
DISTRIBUTOR: MCA Home Entertainment
ALTERNATE TITLES: Love God?, The

I believe when the film was released theatrically (and I was 10 years old!), it was rated “M for Mature Audiences Only.” The ratings had only been introduced the year before, but the rating M soon turned into GP (standing for what exactly?) and then as PG (for Parental Guidance). After folks complained that the violence in INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM shouldn’t have gotten a PG, the ratings board came up with PG-13. Now to get back on topic, there is nothing at all in THE LOVE GOD? that merits any of those, M, GP, PG or PG-13. But I guess since it starred kid’s favorite Don Knotts, the ratings board panicked.

Rated GP = Guidance Parental
It was revised in the 1970s to the standard PG that we know today.

I believe "General Audiences, Parental Guidance suggested" would make more sense than "Guidance Parental".

GP looks more like it would be the G rating with the P appended to it for a parental guidance warning instead of PG flipped.

A new book from his daughter is coming out on September 21:

Quote:
Tied Up in Knotts: My Dad and Me

Karen Knotts tells the full story of her father, Don Knotts Much has been written about Don Knotts's career, especially about his iconic role as Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show, but personal views into the man himself are few and far between. In Tied Up in Knotts, a loving daughter provides a full-life narrative of her father: Don's difficult childhood in an abusive home, his escape into comedic performance, becoming a household name, his growth as a feature film actor, his failing health, and his family life throughout, leading to touching and hilarious moments that will make the reader laugh and cry. Those looking for a behind-the-scenes peek at the show, from the nuts and bolts of production to the hilarious pranks and heartfelt moments between the cast and crew, will see it all through the eyes of the little girl who grew up on the set. Knotts will delight readers with the memories of celebrities touched by Don's life, including Ron Howard, Tim Conway, Andy Griffith, Maggie Peterson, John Waters, Barbara Eden, and Jim Carrey.Tied Up In Knotts delves beyond Barney Fife nostalgia to tell the life story of a man and father.

The Love God? (1969)

Menus:

Movie:

Extras (on Disc 3):

The quality of the TV spot is poor because the source was probably the following video on YouTube:

Thanks for those screenshots. I was hoping for even a slight upgrade over the Universal release for The Ghost and Mr. Chicken but they are identical. I'll probably get the Shout release at some point but not right away.
