Significant extras are dropped from this one so you might want to keep it.

Whether one keeps Viy is down to their opinion on Richard Stanley.

A Dinner plate and a Swizzle Stick? Will we eventually get a full Severin Place Setting?

I really enjoyed Richard Stanley's take on Island of Lost Souls, as well as his The Movies that Made Us. Its too ****ing bad he is apparently an abusive piece of shit. VIY being my only double-dip and one that I literally just shelled out for.. luckily a trade. Hasn't even arrived yet. Excited for it.

I was lucky enough to see Field In England in theaters. I remember not liking it. The trailer was just so damn cool. I believe I set improper expectations.

Either way this set and the extra goodies is going to by movie gift for my wife this year. She loves horror and especially witches and such.. Midsommar and The Witch being a couple of her favorites.

Please recommend other solid folk horror if you'd like! We haven't even seen the original Wicker Man for Christ's sake!

Great place to start is with the originals - Witchfinder General, Blood on Satan's Claw, and The Wicker Man. If you're in the mood for more modern takes, perhaps try Kill List, The Witch, The Ritual, Apostle, or Hagazzusa.

If A Field in England didn't land, you may have been lacking the requisite hallucinogens.

Kuroneko, Kwaidan, Onibaba and The Wailing come to mind.

Kill List is so good. It's a regular watch 'round these parts.

One of the things that I enjoyed the most about the doc included in the box is that it takes a worldwide view of folk horror, and in doing so looks at a number of films, not just those from the British countryside.

And yeah, Kill List is rad.

I haven't watched 19 of the 20 films included, nor have I watched the documentary. Hell I haven't even watched The Wicker Man or Witchfinder General yet. I do own The Blood On Satan's Claw and A Field In England, and I love them both.

I'll be getting this from DiabolikDVD or GHV as soon as it shows up at either shop.

i feel that this is going to be the best box set of 2021

besides wickerman, blood on satans claw and the witchfinder general, would you guys say that this set is pretty comprehensive? is it missing any other essential folk/pastoral horro?

The documentary shows you just how deep the folk horror rabbit hole goes. There are so many films and TV movies / episodes mentioned in it. There are some deep cuts on this box, and quite a bit I haven't seen - but there are still loads of things that the doc will add to your watchlist.

Curious as to how fast this will sell out. I'm going to have to wait a payday or two, thanks to overspending this month.

Already have a couple of these (Viy, Dark Waters), but agree that it looks astounding. Eyes of Fire and Il Demonio have been on my watchlist for years, and the others in the trailer (below) look great too.

Haven't been this excited for a Severin box set since Lenzi/Baker.

No worries. If it doesn't, then it wasn't meant to be. This looks a like a sweet set, though.

4000 units. I think you'll have plenty of time. Unless you want that fancy ass dinner plate, that is.

Drop everything you’re doing and make watching The Wicker Man your top priority.

My second favorite horror movie ever and easily in my top ten regardless of genre. Even if you don’t end up liking it as much as I do. It is a MUST watch movie.

This is a cool set because I didn’t have to talk myself into getting it in any capacity. Grabbed my credit card the moment the order dropped. Absolutely not missing out on this.
