Because it's already on the 4K amaray that all retailers receive. They aren't going to waste that on a steelbook on the first run that sells thousands of less copies that only certain retailers receive worldwide.

It may be used on an exclusive steelbook by one retailer in one country somewhere later on.

That's just the way it is with WWA steelbooks.

Yes, it's been that way for most pre-orders for about the past month or 2 (at least).

The psychedelic Target cover is actually more appealing than the Steelbook. But still a bizarre choice. It seems clear the Target interior character art should have been on the outside, with the psychedelic floating discs on the inside.

I can't tell if that Target edition is a plastic case, or some kind of book-style case.

Probably not. They'll ship it a few days before release day, and won't be available for pick up until release day.

The picture of the Target case makes it look like one of those old Diamond Luxe cases to me.

Doubtful, I wanted to do that with Suicide Squad, but it never gave me the option.

If you wanted a fallback (in case of loss or damage through the mail), you could always check online the weekend before release date. Buy another copy if it shows in store pickup. Once the mail copy arrives you can compare the two and return the extra for a refund.

You can let the store pickup copy sit at the store, extend the pickup another week too, and wait to see how your shipped one looks, then cancel the ISPU if it's good. Only downside is if the store holds you a dented one, and then the one you get shipped is dented too.

OK, the Target package looks like what they just did for Free Guy. And similar to Black Widow, except that one had a booklet instead of two prints. So it's a cardboard case around the standard 4K case.

I think for the first time in a while I’ll skip double dipping on the Target exclusive. It looks more like a promo for the olympics than a Marvel movie. The last few Marvel movie Target covers ended up becoming the Zavvi exclusive lenticular steel book artwork. I hope that is not the case with this one.

Disappointing that the retail exclusive front art covers aren't as good as the standard release. Would've liked the Steelbook to use at least the Empire Magazine one. That to me represents the movie fairly well.
