Howling III The Marsupials is Gone With The Wind compared to that 1995 so-called Howling 7 New Moon Rising. That POS is AWFUL. I can't hate that thing more than I do.

But yea, Candyman 3.... I'll definitely get the Blu-ray Day 1 and without Philip Glass' music score, makes it even worse.

That came out of left field! The cover looks great!

I was expecting they'd use the DVD cover art, but this is kicking up a lot of notches!

Kudos Lionsgate.

Haha! Ya, "Howling 7" is pretty much as bad as it gets. 89 minutes of country-line dancing and about 30 seconds of werewolf. But although I rarely would ever watch it again, I found it somewhat mesmerizing in its terribleness.

That said, I once worked with one of the 'actresses' in it (LesLee), early 90's entertainment office job, and she was the receptionist at that time. She would always talk about heading to "Pioneertown" (the film's location) which was a tiny town at the time and is way east of L.A. and I would ask her about it. She loved country music and she loved hanging out in Pioneertown and probably knew most of the people there, so she's in the movie, shot a few years after we worked together. LesLee was a genuine sweetheart.

Since so many of the secondary actors and actresses in the film use their real name as their character, it seems like this was just a thrown together country-music bar movie made by the locals, that threw in a few seconds of werewolf stuff to make it a Howling film. Maybe the producers showed it to New Line and NL said, "add a werewolf and we can make it a Howling sequel, and you got a deal". I have no clue, and didn't keep in touch with LesLee, unfortunately, to ask her the details of how it came to be.

I'd love a documentary about the making of that thing more than the film itself, of course.

I'm not loving the cover. It's Okay but I like the dvd art better.

Were punks in this movie? It's been a while since I've seen this.

Could swear I already had this on BD. Yep, I guess I imported the German one. Can't really justify paying for it again. The old Candyman sequels are so bad, or at least so disappointing in the way that they continually revise the story, eliminating more and more of the essence of the original tragedy.

Yes, there was a "subplot" (that didn't add anything to the film other than a huge body count) involving a cult of punks who steal Daniel Robitaille's paintings because they believe in his pain and are then murdered by the Candyman when summoning him.

With at least 7 titles in the works I feel like Ghoulies 3 will be in our hands soon enough.

I don't remember any of that. Definitely going to have to give this a rewatch.

What makes this so bad exactly? I’ve only ever seen the first Candyman.

If it is I'm sure I'll grab it, but not sure I'll ever watch it. That most recent dvd viewing had me swearing this off. But I'm a sucker for a pretty slipcover and some nice new extras on the cheap. Dig the new art.

Both "sequels" just go off on their own paths and make little to no sense, esp. compared to the newest one which I now consider the one true sequel to the first. Watch em and see if you see anything different though. On the bright side, there's lots more Tony Todd and some boobs.
