The 4K transfer looks great. Still don't know what to make of this movie. It seems to have a distinct "violence isn't fun" attitude, which is weird for this kind of exploitation movie.

My VinSyn order came in today and I just finished this up. ****ing gnarly! It was utterly filthy and disgusting and I loved it! There's really not much to say outside of that. There's nothing to discuss other than it's a nasty CAT III and it accomplishes exactly what it set out to do. The picture and sound were damn near flawless and I was quite surprised with the quality of the slipcover. I mean THAT'S a slipcover! The booklet is a nice touch as well so I'm going to have to go through it soon. This is a dirty little piece of cinema and it's no wonder why it has the following does. Good stuff all around.

This flick was great fun. The children absolutely loved it. They haven't laughed so hard since we caught Ernest Goes to Camp on Lifetime Channel. Now they don't wanna watch all their Disney discs anymore.

We watched A Serbian Film uncut and Salo 120 Days in a back-to-back double-feature with the little ones last weekend. My youngest laughed so hard, he shot his whiskey out of his nose. They love foreign comedy as much as the next kid.

Ebola Syndrome definitely left an impression. They loved the African tribal medicine chicken dance. And they've been running around the house all night yelling, "Are you busting my ballz?" like a stuck record.

Tomorrow night for the 4th of July, if they're behaving, we'll watch the Good Dinosaur in 4k, and then pop on Irreversible after that. A little variety is good.

This is the best comedic movie to watch about Pandemics...well that I have seen and in 4K. It's a little over the top, but what isn't anymore with the "Internets".

I watched this today and had a blast. It's over the top violence and sleaze and had me laughing quite a bit (perhaps unintentionally). I had only seen the film once before back in 1996 and gave it a very low rating at that time.

I actually found this to be a bit tame compared to The Untold Story. So, those who were repulsed by this film should definitely not watch that one.

That being said, I'm glad Vinegar Syndrome brought this to 4K UHD. More Cat III movies are always welcome. I was going to suggest they release Run and Kill and Red to Kill but apparently those are coming from a different label.

I agree with this, I found The Untold Story a bit hard to watch. The violence is played straight and really messed up. In Ebola Syndrome the violence is played from a more comedy/exploitation/over-the-top angle so it's a bit easier to digest and a lot more fun.

Wong looks so different from Hard Boiled. Cuz that's pretty much the main film I know him from. Apparently he was in Black Mask, cuz I didn't remember him w/ that wig. He does eccentric crazy well.

I think the film is interesting for sure, just think it could have been better directed in some ways. It is a fascinating film for sure. It's not my type of thing but goddamn does this thing go all out and it... works. It's a disgusting thing for sure. My interest in this more for the sake of my HK fandom than say.... an interest in these types of films. But it's a good one for sure.

Watched this yesterday but in low volume as it was quite late at night, so can't verify the audio issue.

The movie for sure is disgusting in parts but the portrayal of Kai's character is relentless and ruthless.

Most of these movies are like loose cannons with a looser screenplay and deliberately wonky directing despite a good story and plot.

I am sure this is a good candidate to be remade given that we are in this flaky post-pandemic era.
