Like I said, no more Amazon preorders especially on Kino titles, and if I want the films even cheaper when I go back to buy spare copies for the library, I'll grab them on a kino sale around Black Friday. Plus, Kino doesn't charge sales tax, and has free shipping after $50. Amazon charges fake sales tax on you with every order now, and never remits it to any taxing authority, so they steal that money. For now, I'm happy to spend the extra $1.20 per title and actually GET what I ordered, when I ordered it, with a slip cover, directly from the merchant, and not smashed to bits in a paper envelope by a monkey or robot machine.
Amazon loves to steal business away from other e-tailers by price-matching but then they don't stock the product. Nice. They should reconfigure their bots to only price match in-stock items. We both know that's not going to happen. Is it the same thing with the Barnes & Noble Criterion sale? I ordered the new Shaft 4k from Amazon and it arrived in 2 days. Might be an anomaly though.

I pre-ordered the 'animal attacks' trio (Ants, Terror, Tarantula) direct from Kino on 6/9/22 and they still have yet to ship. I did contact Kino Support about the delay and received the following response:

"Your order is scheduled to ship out soon. Our fulfillment house has been very busy with the high volume of orders from the sale so some orders are taking longer to process.

I am sorry for the delay. Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

Best,

Kino Lorber"

My C.C. was charged and I received an 'approved for packing' email on 7/1, no movement since.

Not a big deal as I've many other unwatched blu's sitting around the house.

My Amazon order just shipped and is set to be here on the 17th.

Got lucky I guess.

No rush on these critter movies. I'll get them eventually. I still go with Amazon because I'm a Prime member. Free shipping without a minimum purchase is still worth it plus I have the storefront card so 5-6% back really adds up.

I ordered the three films from Kino this morning, after posting above, and I just got my processing approval, then my tracking number. Man, that was fast.

I usually buy directly from Kino but I was ordering items off of Deep Discount and needed to add one more title to get free shipping so I picked ANTS!

I preordered all three of the new Kino TV critter flicks on Amazon on the very first day the preorders went up. I already got a "You must take action and authorize us to proceed or we will cancel your order due to delays" notice yesterday on two of the three movies. That's ridiculous. Then they pushed my order of Ants yesterday out from July 17 to July 26, and this morning they pushed it out to August 9. Screw all that noise. It's why I went directly with Kino this morning. The writing is on the wall. The Amazon preorders were $13.38 with tax, and zero certainty of a slip, let alone even getting the films shipped at that price, for weeks on end, if at all.

The Kino orders were $14.95 with no tax and free shipping, once your order hits $50 or more. For the extra buck and a half per title, it was a no-brainer.

I order all my KL movies (with slips, too) from BM. Never would I trust Amazon, especially if you want slips, and I try not to shop Amazon anymore anyway. BM may charge a dollar or two more than Kino, but Kino also charges me tax where BM doesn't, BM always ships as soon as they get theirs in, even quicker than Kino, I always get a slip, all the Vincent Price ones came in pronto, etc., even the original slip of TGTB&TU arrived easy from BM. Plus, their bonus points on every dollar spent to get 50% off on future titles, free shipping over $35 which is EASY, no "prime" fee membership, BM has really become the best deal in town for me. And shipping from Maine to Los Angeles is quicker than ANY other merchant I've dealt with. They must hire their own superhero USPS mailmen!

I got all 3 Kino insect movies last week from BM, all in perfect shape with slips.

Plus, with BM, you can pre-order titles coming out now or months from now on the same order to get the $35 shipping, no worries of "all must be in-stock before shipping". So I order, and never have to think again about them as they send titles from all orders as the titles come in individually.

After BM fired their employees for wanting to be safe, I just can’t give them my business.

Amazon isn’t perfect, but I pay for their service and I think out of all of the blu’s I have bought from them, I’ve only had to replace 1-2.

Don't want to get political, but Covid protection via masks is SO 2020 and 2021. By the way, I was fully vaccinated with 2 boosters and got Covid a month ago for the first time. Lasted several days at most. And I still wear a mask to be polite and considerate.

I know some employees at certain retailers were dead-set on the mandates, but geesh, give these businesses a break. No one out there really knew how to navigate any of this, and still really don't.

I'm so glad BM survived that whatever that storm was and are doing well. And stay safe everyone!!!!

PS: And you're actually "defending" conglomerate monopoly-oriented Amazon on all their controversial labor issues, over a small retailer???? Wow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the employees buy Bullmoose earlier this year? I believe it's 100% employee owned.

That would be cool if they did, I didn't hear that. All I heard way back is one BM store had to shut down because the workers refused to work. The whole thing was all pretty ridiculous, and of course the media had a field day with it, making BM the 'evil villain'.

Looked it up and yeah, it was sold to the employees in January.

It’s not about politics. That’s the problem and the vaccines don’t stop you from getting Covid. Not sure where people got that idea from. It’s to decrease your chances of dying.

Again, any company who chooses to let their employees go because of a public health issue won’t get my business. Not a big deal.

BM won't miss your business, trust me. Go back to your anointed Amazon 'king' and pay them a yearly fee to do so. And you really think Amazon really cares about their workers' health - bwahahaha! Delusional.
