the new masters on paramount+ are in 4K HDR! however they're still filmouts, just 4K scans of filmouts this time instead of old 2K ones (there's still heavy gateweaving and the fade-ins/outs are similar to that of opticals even tho they aren't)

I saw akaun6899's post that the films were on Paramount+ with new remasters. I had to check them out for myself. I watched a few scenes from the first movie and watched "Paris" all the way through the other day.
Folks, they look AMAZING. peppapigstan is right- they're from 35mm scans, but you could honestly mistake them for digital prints with a thin layer of film grain. They look that good. This will be very welcome in my Blu-Ray collection. Note: "Rugrats Go Wild" is on P+, but it's the same old master. It's up in the air at the moment as to what that'll look like on Blu. I was never a huge fan of that one anyway. |

IIRC, the first 2 Rugrats movies were animated digitally but had the animation files output back to 35mm and were finished on film. The digital files at this point are probably corrupt or on old computers that Paramount/Klasky Cuspo can't run on newer hardware. The HD master for Rugrats Go Wild was direct from the digital files, hence why they didn't need to do a new restoration for that one.

Looks like I might get me a replacement case for the one. Even though it’s blu ray; I do not like when they stack discs.

If it's stacked, you might have to get a replacement set instead of just a non-stacked case lol |

Swapped the stackable case out with a 3-disc Viva Elite.
The aspect ratios for the films are: The Rugrats Movie - 1.85:1 Rugrats in Paris: The Movie - 1.85:1 Rugrats Go Wild - 2.39:1 |
