This is a great announcement! Hoping this will have the original cinema audio in lossless.

I definitely haven't watched it since the 2000s. Site says the blu-ray came out in 2007 and yeah, that's probably the last time I saw it.

Sat through 20 minutes of Mission to Mars last night. If this is my reward, I'll take it.

I can't even bear to watch the Blu-ray anymore, it's just plain icky - I recall a fair bit of processing and frozen grain. Watching it in lurvely remastered 4K will be a treat.

I'll give you my Blu-ray if you want it. Love this film but that BD is nigh unwatchable.

Can’t wait for this. One of my all time favourites. Just purchased the iTunes 4K version as wasn’t sure this would come out anytime soon. Excellent news. Looks sweet on iTunes too..

Love Billy Drago in this! This'll be the first Drago 4K, but hopefully Pale Rider and others come eventually!

Never saw the BD of this, thankfully I guess, we just have it on DVD, so most definitely will be a pre-order instead of waiting for the price drop!

I couldn't agree more. About the Brian De Palma. We need Snake Eyes on 4K. I've never seen this movie before and I can't watch it. This movie falls in my favorite era though. The era I grew up in.

If there was a place where I could rent 4K discs I probably have a list of about 50. Really glad Paramount finally got to this one because I know it has a lot of fans.

What do you mean you don't have the money to buy it? I make below the living wage, annually, and I can still afford to buy some things here and there. hopefully, it is just a temporary thing. I am sorry if you honestly can't. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't afford the luxury to listen to music and watch 4K movies. I would go nuts. And I already am going there anyway. IF you NEED anything, ask. I don't mind helping.

The issue is when movies actually remaster the standard BD as well, but then don't release it with the 4K. Like Scream.

Because not all of us have UHD players in every room of the house? I like having both discs so I can still use the regular Blu-ray on other TVs, take them to a friend's house who doesn't have 4K, etc. It's just a nice thing to have that shouldn't cost *that* much extra to include, and some companies cheap out and don't include it to save a dollar or two. And then they have the gall to ask the same price as all the other companies who include it.

Thanks!
I simply meant that although it is a quality movie that I like and would like to see again on disc rather than on stream it's not something that I would buy because I wouldn't watch it repeatedly. When I say I can't afford it I mean I can't afford to do what I used to do with LaserDisc and DVD which is buy tons of movies because they're really cool to see up on my shelf! At this point I am only buying titles which I will watch on a regular basis for the rest of my life.
If I was rolling in cash I would buy a lot of titles for the kick I get from seeing them on my shelf and also to support physical media. What I do miss is having a mom-and-pop type video store like I had at the dawn of the age of DVD! I would love to be able to go into a store and look at the selection and pick out a handful of UHD 4K movies to rent. Seems like everybody I know is switching over to streaming. My kids my friends, Etc.
That's why I love this forum so much because people care about physical media and they care about the actual quality of the discs.
