Is this going to make any sense if I haven't watch the other Yellowstone series?

Curious to see Ford do TV.

Hard to tell after one episode, but it doesn't seem to be very connected, being 40 years later. They might have some dialogue about the characters but it'll probably be throwaway at best.

1883 is definitely worth checking out though even if you're not interested in Yellowstone, they're completely different stories. If it hadn't had the last name Dutton or end up in Montana, there'd be no universe connections at all.

Another rock solid 2nd episode of 1923.

I've noticed the writing has deliberately gotten slower compared to 1883.

Having a definite ending in mind is what made 1883 a great cracker of a series with some outstanding performances from Sam, Tim and Faith.

Matching greatness is not easy. I hope Dalton brings urgency to this series.

Its off to a solid good start.

Another fantastic episode. I'm really loving these Yellowstone spin-offs.

And regarding Isabel May, seems she's the narrator of the episodes (ep. 2 included) and that's it. We don't actually see her.

If I could choose between going to 1923 or 2023, I'd choose the former. Too bad that ain't an option. lol

Default 3rd Episode confirms 1923 is off to a flying start....

1923 1st and 2nd episodes felt like they were 1 episode dragged into 2 episodes because of the Paramount+ greed.

After watching 3rd Episode, its clear 1923 has officially started a full-on bloody range war

With only 5 episodes left in 1st season, this will finish on a high note.

why I predict this? fireworks started before Timothy Dalton's arrival.

this is a good sign.

Taylor Sheridan is a very talented writer and director, If you haven't seen his movie WIND RIVER I highly recommend it. Also THE MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN on Paramount+.

Quite like how this show is going so far. I find it truly bizarre how they have Isabel May narrating and even give her billing on the opening credits. Seems a bit OTT, even though I loved her character and acting in 1883 but this show really should be it's own thing and be narrated by a current character.

Disappointing to see that there will be no new episodes for a month. Not a fan of splitting things up like this.

I have the ad version of paramount +, did anyone else get previews for the upcoming episodes of 1923 during the airing? Why would you ply previews for later episodes when the current one isn’t even done yet? That was kind of annoying. Amazing episode though.

I'm guessing Teonna is an ancestor of Monica or the councilman, Thomas Rainwater.

Default A big disappointment.....

Saw Episode 4.....

All that talk of spencer coming back to join range wars in Epi 4 was a big lie.

Paramount+ is really milking in episode 4. very stale and slow writing. unnecessary teasing of what spencer will do when he takesover.

If it wasnt for Timothy Dalton debuting finally, Episode 4 is a serious step down from a "very good' episode 3 which showed 1923 could go places.

I dont blame Taylor Sheridon entirely here......... It is clear, he has orders from Paramount+......"wanna make Duttons in 60s decade and Duttons in 80s decade, you slow 1923 down so they get 2 episodes of writing stretched to 4 episodes."

this again shows how a limited series like 1883 is a great one thanks to sheridon having definite ending in mind at 10th episode point.

now we are paused for "spencer" entry in episode 5 with 6 weeks break as Paramount+ give you MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN in 5 weeks with 1 episode each week.

Just plain pathetic.

I really don't understand breaks with streaming services, it's one thing to release something in parts when maybe the season isn't fully finished filming, but then also why do you insist on starting something when it's not done? It's not like they have to take it off for broadcast reasons. Just air a season straight through. They could've even waited until Yellowstone was off and aired it over 8 weeks sometime then instead of running both at the same time.

So they can keep you subscribed as long as possible.

It's possible to pause/cancel the subscription, but keeps the customer coming back whenever there's a new episode.

This is just very impractical from the old format of one episode a week it used to be when streaming services weren't a thing.

Or somebody would just cancel and come back when the new episodes start. Especially for something like Titans and Doom Patrol on HBO Max, those are on a break now, nobody's going to stay subscribed for months if they don't have anything else to watch.
