Same, downright tickled they aren’t trying to force III into collections. I’d rather see Metro in 4K, but not holding my breathe.

I enjoy Beverly Hills Cop III enough that I'd definitely get a UHD release of it if they release it.

Honestly, I'd argue that Smokey 2 is worse than 3.

With the 3rd film they at least tried to get back to the lighthearted nature that the first film had. The 2nd film is mean spirited. I think maybe Burt and Field hated each other then and that bitterness hangs over the entire movie.

Have the first one on 4k and would love this to come out here in the UK. Beverly Hills Cop II is my favourite of the three. I can take or leave Beverly Hills Cop III.

Sweet. Eddie Murphy's "Deep Undercover" bit is one of those things that has always stuck with me.

The script was very bad. That´s the reason why "Smokey 2" was so bad and then the ridiculous elephant scenes and Reynolds getting drunk for so long. The whole movie sucks.

Back to "Beverly Hills Cop 2": 1st day purchase. I like the sequel very much, the third part was quite bad.

Great sequel and the scene at the pool is a masterclass in comedy.

They’ve released III individually on VHS, DVD, and Blu ray. Not sure why they would opt not to on 4k. They can probably make back the money of printing them on completionists alone.

definitely not much "acting" was required in their scenes together in part II.

If we can get a UHD of Karate Kid Part III, then BHC III has a chance.

Apple and oranges. Karate Kid III never had a stand-alone blu ray release if I’m not mistaken. BHCIII has.

BCHIII BD has only been issued in the Trilogy pack along with II's only BD release from a few years back. Of course all 3 films re-mastered in 4K. Figure Paramount is dropping lots of back catalog on BD at least but just look at the surprise release of Escape from L.A. UHD coming this week.

The screenplay is a little hokey and Ronny Cox gets sidelined after playing an integral part in the first film, but BHCII is still a very fun ride nonetheless, with outstanding comedic chemistry between Murphy, Reinhold, and Ashton. Definitely happy to see this getting a 4K UHD.

Actually III did have an individual release practically everywhere in the world except in the USA, where you’re correct it looks like they didn’t do it. But the remastered release was fairly recent so maybe that can still change.

More importantly, Karate Kid III had a tie-in to an insanely popular show and Beverly Hills Cop III does not.

And even with that tie-in, KKIII still has not been released on it's own.

If we're talking international, though, KKIII did have a stand-alone Blu-Ray release.

You’re right, looks like it did. My bad then.

That being said, Karate Kid III grossed under 40 million, while Beverly Hills Cop III almost 120 million. So they’re not exactly in the same league in terms of commercial success.

KKIII didn't get released on UHD because of it's performance in 1989. That set was released because "Cobra Kai" is one of the biggest shows in the world and way more popular than Beverly Hills Cop III ever has or will be.

Now, if they ever make a Beverly Hills Cop series, throw it on Netflix, and have a season where Axel becomes a security guard at that theme park, I am sure a 3 movie UHD set will pop up.
