I think it had more to do with being away from home while her daughter was suffering than it had to do with her work. That phone call she got from her daughter messed with her head.

It’s done very well so it should get another season. I’d guess that Cruz won’t be back as the Lioness after how this ended.

I wouldn't mind if they didn't bring back Kidman. She's looking scary these days.

Putting Freeman on the poster and then putting him in two scenes at the end of the season was quite a tease

I updated my cover art for this TV series yesterday to reflect the correct "Running Time" now that the last episode of the season has dropped. The full size image (3173x1762) is now available to download for those interested in checking it out. See my previous post, here.

It's a bummer Paramount aren't putting Sheridan's works out on 4K Blu considering what massive hits they are -- this series being no exception.

I finally burned through this series by watching all eight episodes straight.

What's interesting about a work like this is Sheridan isn't a slave to the Hollywood system -- stays out of their politics, and is a Texas boah through and through -- yet this guy knows how to write better, more believable female empowered characters than all of these other garbage DEI enabled studios that feel like they're generating scripts from Tumblr and Twitter bloggers. And it's all the more ironic that as a very masculine, archetypal white male, he's also writing far better female characters than all of these other female screenwriters and directors. Just goes to show what type of quality characters and stories you get when you just focus on hiring the best people for the job instead of trying to hit inclusivity quotas.

I mean, even though Nicole Kidman chews scenery like rabid wolf in this series, it's still cool to see her, Zoe Saldana, Jill Wagner, and Laysla De Oliveira all absolutely KILL their roles.

No woman has ever passed any tier one special ops regiment in real life -- yet with the commitment to these roles from these awesome ladies, they sure made it believable.

Also cool to see Sheridan continue his commitment to tactical realism. The gunplay, CQB tactics, and the overall flow of the action in this series ranks among some of the best gun and tactical realism you're going to find in filmmaking right now.

Despite some melodramtic moments and some questionable dialogue this series still remained highly entertaining.

And how about a lesbian Muslim? Stephanie Nur was very good in this role. Yet another stereotyped bucked by Sheridan while simultaneously giving us a strong, yet delicate Muslim woman who deconstructs tropes while not feeling forced or created out the of convenience of meeting the social quotas.

This is how it's done. This is how you do inclusion. You let the story become itself organically. You don't have to announce it or drip feed the press tidbits. You just let the story and characters take shape and cast the right people for the roles -- which for this series, Sheridan did.

It really sucks. I dont get it. They are bigger hits than Halo and yet both Halo and Star Trek get 4k. I mean damn even s2 of Mayor of kingstown didnt even get a bluray .. just dvd which is insulting.

I'm five episodes in (I'll finish it tomorrow) and so far I'm really liking this. I'd probably say 'loving' but I can't freaking stand the oldest daughter and to a certain extent the husband. Maybe Joe can call in a drone strike on her house and get rid of them.

Yeah, the first season of this was pretty much okay. But the first four episodes of season 2 have actually been very good. So good, I would say it ranks among Sheridan's best written work on television so far.

Unless they get future seasons and she ends up working the desk, what was the point to Joe having the artery knicked?

[Show spoiler]She went back into combat. She’s fine. Comes back home and the husband said she’ll always have a home. It really should have happened at the start of the season so it had some weight. Episode before last they were really going with the SHE COULD DIE and SHES TEARING HER MARRIAGE APART angles and none of it mattered.

I hear it’s become quite popular in s2 would be weird if it’s not renewed. Also would like a preorder up for s2 Blu-Ray soon.

Default Upcoming season 2 DVD

I found an upcoming release on Amazon for season 2 (nothing is mentioned on this site yet), but the problem is that there's only a listing for a DVD right now. No Blu-ray is available at this time. The release date for the DVD is listed as April 15. I certainly hope this won't be another DVD-only release.
