I saw it opening weekend but missed the trailers. Did anyone remember what ones they had with it?

Movie was alright. I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't just read the book. The location was gorgeous and Daisy was lovely. Not much else to say about it. The trial was way too rushed compared to the book.

I might have missed some but I remember seeing trailers for She Said, Three Thousand Years of Longing, The Invitation, Don't Worry Darling, Ticket to Paradise, and The Woman King.

Thanks. I guess I did come in at the end of the Woman King trailer so I did get that as well.

Are there plenty of atmospheric shots of Spanish moss in the locales of this film?

Yes. There's a big tree with a lot of Spanish moss on it where an important scene takes place and the main character's house also had Spanish moss on the trees growing around it.

Based on the title, I actually thought this was an animated children's film

Strong performance by Edgar-Jones, Where the Crawdads Sing delivers a cinematic experience.

Must be a 4K, the cinematography is stunning and Yes, more than a sleeper. It could end up doing $ 85/90 mill at the US box pluss $75 mill internationally.

Also surprised other surprise hits this years such as Dog and The Black Phone didn’t get 4Ks either. I’ll be pissed if they release one later.

Hold up... Black Phone, not getting a 4k? That movie is a smash, 84 million stateside and 142 million worldwide on an 18 million budget... along with being critically/audience acclaimed. And its STILL in the top 10 boxoffice. That's just preposterous.

Pick up your own Black Phone and call the studio not releasing the 4K to complain.

At least The Black Phone is getting a 4K release overseas. This is native 4K, so even more of a bummer that it won't be on UHD.

Yeah I can't understand why a native 4k movie is not getting a 4k release. Makes no sense to me. 4k with dolby vision please Sony!

No 4K releases for many films tells you what the studios think of the physical format and its viability.

The studios have come to accept that every film must come out on bluray even though DVD is still as popular [which is why every film gets a DVD release too, either in a combo package or standalone.]

4K is being made for streaming and digital and sometimes if they think they can make a good profit on the title they'll release it on physical 4K.

Also different countries will make different decisions on whether to release a title on physical 4K.

Studios are totally onboard to put up their new films in 4K on digital/streaming platforms.

Everyone I saw talking about this movie on social media was female. How many female 4K collectors are there? The lack of a 4K physical release doesn’t surprise me.

It's a chick flick for sure but it's really good and you're right most of the women I know don't even like buying physical movies.

I get this a lot: "Why do you buy? You've seen it, the DVDs just create clutter" and "How many times can you watch a movie?" and "You can stream it, buying movies is a waste of money"

I am very glad I live alone.

But many of my friends and relatives male and female have stopped buying blurays or DVDs and CDs. Streaming and Spotify. They are still onboard with movie theaters.

My sister is moving and just gave me all of her DVDs and CDs and I took them to a record store and sold them. I'm gonna give her the money. So much in there was stuff I gave her as gifts over a 20 year period. Most of the money came from The Beatles stereo box set. I got 5 cents for each of the DVDs. The store sells them of $1 and 25 cents during their annual sale. She had the complete Lord Of The Rings DVDs in those fancy boxes. I've seen the store sell the whole set for $5 so during a sale it would be $2.50 which gives you an idea on how much I got for them.

But something is better than nothing.
