Default I, the jury (1953)

I, the Jury (United Artists, 1953). Lobby Card Set of 8.jpgI am deeply disappointed that The 3D Film Archive is no longer associated with this release. Their name is a guarantee I shall get an experience superior to that of those who originally saw this motion picture. The archive has a huge and loyal fan base who willingly goes to the bat to help with their projects. All of us will, of course, support this release but if there are issues that could have been corrected had the 3D Archive been involved ClassicFlix will be letting al of us down. I am not a fan of anaglyph however the 3D Archives anaglyph editions are better than anything so far produced. Their inclusion of anaglyph copies on their latest releases extends the market for those titles. If there is ANY vertical parallax in that blu-ray, people will scream bloody murder. This is, I believe, the second time someone has taken this title out of their more than capable hands.

I'm more than ready to step up for this blu ray release; it's a safe bet the folks at ClassicFlix will do everything the rights-holder will allow them to do (3DFA exclusion notwithstanding) to offer a solid 3D blu ray.

However.... at this point I'm frankly worried whether we will indeed get a blu ray release....

If we don’t, the blame can be laid squarely on the shoulders of libelist Scott MacDramaQueen and his once-respectable archivist shill Robert Harris, as well as the rights holders for apparently listening to their idiocy.

Phew! Good news! David at ClassicFlix just confirmed on another board that Jury remains a "definite" go for a blu ray release; they're still pushing for 2022 but knowing how these things go it could be 2023.

Anyway, just so long as I know it's coming.

And here's an encouraging note for fellow Spillane fans: the other long-overdue (2D) restoration of the Spillane-based 1954 title The Long Wait is rumored to be making its way eventually to disc. I told David I hope ClassicFlix gets in on this too.... he did not answer, but (FWIW...) he responded with a "Like."

Hope springs eternal....

The folks at ClassicFlix are already working really hard to make this release as good as they can. Kudos since their job has been made more difficult due to circumstances beyond anybody's control, really. Hopefully it will come out sooner than later, most likely this year.

Because repeatedly attacking ClassicFlix like a spoiled child would have had no effect on any decisions.

Like I said before, try calming the rhetoric because if they do end up cancelling the release, it will be due to the constant spate of attacks.

Easy big guy. Nobody’s attacking ClassicFlix, only the two spoiled children that started all the trouble in the first place. Reading comprehension. I will absolutely be buying this release to support ClassicFlix.

Wow, great list of features! I just got Jack and the Beanstalk on Saturday. I would never have ordered it without the 3D Archive’s involvement, but it was an excellent presentation and the commentary/special features were great (even for someone who had never seen anything previously from Abbott and Costello.) ClassicFlix is definitely earning a great reputation in this household.

If Kino’s planned November date for Diamond Wizard holds up, should be an exciting month!

Was unable tocomplete preorder through cd imports because it would not retain all shipping information after going to PayPal .

But silver lining that the order did not initially go through. After I gave up, received a 10 percent off coupon for first purchase. Had the first order gonne through would have been too late to use the coupon. Used my own credit card to avoid PayPal problem.

I appreciate the cover art. Judging by the signature, I believe it's the work of Stewart McKissick who did the retro-style cover for Classicflix release of Jack and the Beanstalk.

It's very much in the tradition of classic 1950s 3-D movie poster art, while also evoking something of an eagerly-read pulp paperback.

The movie is B/W, but I love this cover! Preordered.

Absolutely agree. Off the top of my head this might be my favorite art for any of the vintage 3D releases to date. Love when they maintain the 50’s stylization.

As for pre-ordering, has anyone used this site before? Are they known to be reliable and have quick shipping? I know CF had some supply issues on Jack and the Beanstalk, my Amazon pre-order was more than 2 weeks late… don’t know if I’ll be able to handle the FOMO on this release. I am debating jumping on this pre-order link, or does ClassicFlix allow you to preorder directly from their site ince the release is announced?

Yes, if you are a domestic customer, no if you are an international customer.

I’ve never ordered from them before. They list their address as 740 Hilltop Drive, Itasca, IL 60143 United States …

When ordering you have to enter your zip code before it shows shipping costs. I paid $14.44 for 2-day DHL to Calif. but they had several other options, down to ~$2.50 (for my zip code). I paid via PayPal, so charged upfront.

Took a chance with them because this one is a holy grail for me. Can’t imagine it won’t appear on ClassicFlix’s site, but I cancelled my RSM preorder of No Way Home waiting for a domestic seller and ended up scrambling. Who knows anymore?
