Of course, they have.

It's been released in various formats since 1986, and even if it's not on any legitimate streaming service available in Ukraine, it's available through (cough) alternative sources.

I take it you missed some of the discussion in the Child's Play UHD thread yesterday?

I do and it seems quite a few of us around this site do. Though I'm sure some like the commissioned artwork.

Man, SF is really killing it with the 80s classics in 4K! As long as they've eliminated all of the terrible flaws of their standard Blu-ray, I am 100% in for this!

P.S. I, too, also need Road House in 4K.

I think that's the best cover art.

That's what MGM Home Video used for the VHS box cover art as well.

I did not see the remake.

Red Dawn is not the best 1980s movie, but I still enjoy it (else, why bother buying home media releases, no?). It did not need a remake, especially a remake that changed the invading army from the People's Liberation Army to the North Korean People's Army so that China would not be offended.

I'm not a Sinophobe, but that was a dumb move. The only dumber move MGM made was to greenlight the remake in the first place.

That's one of the things that's great about them, and some other smaller labels. They still have that element of hucksterism that the big studios have lost. New movies, and real-world events, give a boost to older titles. Contagion shot up the streaming charts early in the pandemic. But did WB do anything special with the title on physical media? Nope.
There was more interest in Halloween and Ghostbusters beyond their origins

The steelbook art is a nice one. I think this was first film to have the PG 13 rating in history

Correct, it was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom that caused a need for it, due to too many parents complaining of it being PG, and then a few months later Red Dawn got the first PG-13. I think Dreamscape was soon after....

To Steel or not to Steel, that is the question. The Steelbook isn't bad, but I prefer the standard artwork, that's closer to the original.

Good movie.

Has anyone noticed some mistakes in the movie. One thing is, they use 3 different Cheyenne trucks in the beginning.
1.Is when Jed drives the boys to school.
2. After the invasion, Jed driving thru town and to the gas station.
3. When leaving gas station and then see's road block, he goes off road. ( truck is beat-up. dents in the front/ back bumpers / bed, broken tail and headlights).
4. When they pee in the radiator, they use the 1st truck Truck had no dents or broken head and taillights.

Watched my 2K shout disc last night.

Did anyone else notice errors in the movie.

The Selects BD was the same old HD master as the MGM Blu. The 4k UHD and the packaged remastered BD will easily smoke it (even if they have bent slips or some compression blocking). Let's hope they get the audio right as the audio tracks on the 4k and remastered BD of Lifeforce have some sections of low pitched audio.

This really should have had a commentary track.

I love that Scream Factory is using original poster art for these 4K releases. The Red Dawn art is beautiful and haunting.
