Steel Empire (Remake, 2018)?
We’ve seen it all, the typical space shooters in different narrations and variants, but 90’s super dev Hot-B wanted something different when they set out to create STEEL EMPIRE, or "Empire of Steel" as the title came to be for the European market. This is the steam punk Shoot 'em Up featuring steam-powered upgrades to tech usually associated with the start of the 20th century.

Steel Empire (GBA, 2005)?
The GBA game never saw a release in North America, so picking this will be an additional treat for our North American video game enthusiasts who have yet to import either the European or Japanese release of the original GBA game. A lot of assets were modified or entirely redrawn to be optimized for the GBA format, now being made available to enjoy on Switch and PS4! New enemy patterns and boss presentations will give you a new take on the classic 16-bit title.

Steel Empire (MD / GENESIS, 1992)?
The story itself is displayed through what is most easily described as an old sepia-toned film newsreel. The narrative is filled with made-up historical references that’ll help to set the mood. Of course, just as you’ve come to expect of Strictly Limited Games, we’ll add to this through the presentation of the physical releases.

Over Horizon (NES / FC, 1991) ?
That’s not all! We have yet another treat for you. What could be seen as a spiritual sequel to STEEL EMPIRE has also found its way to the Strictly Limited Games line-up, namely the one-and-only OVER HORIZON! This somewhat unknown classic is arguably one of the best Shoot 'em Ups on the humble NES. In addition, we’re extremely pleased to make it available as a retro cartridge release, for you to enjoy on your NES-compatible console of choice!

I assume they are going to send them out when all are done, otherwise they would have to pay massive amounts of postage.

Of course if these irem collections are going to be revealed every 1 or 2 weeks from now on, it won't take that long until all of them are done.

They are quite quick with regular releases, and those are quicker than the Collector's Editions anyway.

I personally don't like it that they can't just tell you what the follow-up releases are going to be. I'm not a massive shmup fan, so it doesn't matter that much in this case to me personally.

Site shows the Tozai Games logo, which did Lode Runner Legacy and Spelunker HD, so it's probably these people. (Both of these got physical releases done by Strictly Limited)

Ships after all 5 come out - estimated to be autumn 2024. That's insane for nearly $500 shipped.

That's the bundle fo 5 Collector's Editions though, where one is 160 Euro-bucks, and thus all 5 should be around 800 Euro-bucks.

I love my shmups, but they're really milking these releases. Given the age of these games, they could have easily broken this into 3 releases with 5 games on each cart instead of 5 releases with 3 on each cart.

By the time people who ordered the 1-5 collection get their order, the Switch successor will probably be out for nearly a damn year.

I only bought one from SLG, because I got it basically for free.

At the same time I think the physical releases that go crazy price-wise, are shmups and RPGs most of the time.

Eschatos is a polygonal vertical Shoot ‘em up in which aliens have taken over the moon and now threaten to do the same to earth. It’s your job to prevent that from happening. To do that your ship is equipped with three different functions, with each being suited for different situations. The Front Shot shoots a powerful beam in a straight line, the Wide Shot shoots at an angle and the shield absorbs shots and damages enemies but works on a limited energy meter. Using them to adapt to each situation is key. Easy to learn, hard to master is the name of the game; but thankfully there are 5 difficulty options to help you find your groove and if you have mastered ORIGINAL MODE, try your hand at ADVANCED MODE (no upgrades) or TIME ATTACK MODE.

Not only is the gameplay excellent, but the clean graphic style is also very pleasing visually and allows the game to transition from one stage to the next without any breaks or even load times in this version! These transitions are accompanied by awesome dynamic camera angles, really showing off the colorful stage backgrounds and creatively bizarre enemy designs. The WonderSwan games were included in the Xbox 360 version of Eschatos (region free disc and digital), I'm glad they are not being left behind. Eschatos is a lot of fun and this looks like a really nice collection.
