A Rocky boxed set? Yes!! Here's hoping they include all the Rocky pictures; 4k fans have had their fill of recently getting shafted by an incomplete boxed set...Star Trek, anyone?

I guess this was a given, releasing to promote/go alongside the new Creed movie in theaters this November.

But Rocky must be *huge* for them to make MGM go out of the slumber they had with releasing back catalogue. I mean, for a long while now they just simply reissued the Fox discs with Warner logo on covers and sublicensed everything else. Barely releasing any catalogue themselves through Warner on *new* releases.

This, is either an Amazon doing or simply the IP is huge enough for MGM to decide on finally using back catalogue and releasing it themselves instead of sublicensing.

Still - good news. Honestly, this is just me predicting, but this smells like a collector's box set - that means, given what we go by 2022 and being Warner, likely an steel set like Mad Max, Godzilla, TLOR, etc.. maybe there'll be amaray releases too since the IP is big enough.

Because steels have been everything for now for a while.

It is. Rocky and Bond are the only films they won't license out.

I'm not the biggest fan of steels due to the higher price point and difficulty getting the disc out of the hub, but I admit they look cool. Regardless here I just want these on UHD be it a steel book, standard Amray case or a paper bag- just gimme!

I will say the one format I do hate are the cardboard sleeves as those do scratch the discs in my experience. Would still get it but would not be a happy wolfy.

Guess I was right and makes sense. Hope a James Bond set ends up coming too eventually - even if it'd be super expensive. Can't wait to see James Bond in 4K.

For me, I don't dislike steels, but I spent a few years not getting them because I don't have the best storage and they end up getting rusty after a while, which really annoys me, given that they're limited so by the time they get that you can't at all get a new one. But there's a new trend of steel only releases, or with important exclusives, so I've had to end up buying them. Not like I mind, I don't hate steels, but the underlying problem worries me.

Don't think I can do a Bond 4k set. That will be way too costly.

I hope this set is under 100 bucks.

This would make the Ultimate Box set if it has;

New Interviews with Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Carl Weathers, Burt Young, Dolph Lundgren, Mr. T, Hulk Hogan, Antonio Tarver

Audio Commentary’s on all six films with the cast.
All Legacy features included from Rocky and Rocky Balboa (past releases)
Dolby Vision/Atmos remasters on all six films, including original audio for Rocky’s I-III

10 disc set featuring

Rocky
Rocky II
Rocky III
Rocky IV
Rocky vs Drago
Rocky V
Rocky V: The Avildsen Cut
Rocky Balboa
Rocky Balboa: The Directors Cut
Rocky Going the Distance Bonus Disc
Including rare fight rehearsal footage for Rocky’s I-III
and much more

Really hope this isn’t coming out until next year, Will need time to replenish my finances after the amount of discs coming out in a few months.

CREED III seems to have moved to March, 2023.

So yes, they obviously want to get these out to coincide, at the very least, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get it out before Christmas and near the original Creed III date, November...also because Stallone's ego now wants to re-prioritize ROCKY after walking away from the CREED film series.

And yes, of course the ROCKY titles have been huge and consistent sellers for them.

I haven’t seen a UK release date confirmed yet either. I’m a little worried for MGM titles considering Thirteen Lives shifted over to primarily a Prime Video release with theatrical only a token.

I missed the 2020 cinema rerelease of the series so I would be down for a 4K set, not watched through it since 2016. I enjoyed the new cut of Rocky vs. Drago and it deserves a disc, maybe alongside the feature length documentary about it.

I don't mind if the DC of IV is there, I just don't want it to be the only cut available.

Hopefully it includes *everything* yes, that would be nice! Also a nice suggestion as above to try to get a few new retrospective interviews from the "villains"!

I believe, in case of the Bond films, Eon Productions may have final say on any physical media releases so that's an extra layer of "protection" for the franchise. As far as the Rocky films, I've only ever watched the original, the fifth one and Rocky Balboa - all of which I enjoyed very much despite not being into boxing at all. I could see adding a collection of all the films to my library but I'm only interested in a set if it includes the alternate cuts mentioned above. I don't think I would want a rehash of what's already been released before.

I've always been on the same boat - loved the Rocky films though I care not for boxing.
