Cool, I'll definitely get this one. Can't wait for Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown though!

When I saw this projected in 35mm way-back-when, I was struck by how finely grained it was. Like, probably the finest-grained Super-35 shot/anamorphically-printed movie I'd ever seen (especially considering that at the time, all the finishing was done photochemically, with an optical blow-up/anamorphic conversion step- in other words, no DI). I later read that the DP loved to shoot with Kodak's slowest, finest-grained stock and use A LOT of light when shooting, so it all made sense. This should look pretty sweet in 4K, but I also suspect there might be false calls that it's been "DNR'd" because of the fine grain.

Saw this at the cinema maybe in 2019 and it looked absolutely rubbish, clearly an old master with all the grain scrubbed and DNR all over the place.
Can't wait for this though, for a very low budget film I suspect it'll still look very very good with a proper 4k release. |

Isn't there a rule against starting threads based on rumors?
My concern is, will Lionsgate actually create a fresh scan for this release or will they recycle an older master? I've never been 100% wowed by a 4K disc from this studio. |

I’m kinda burned out on this film, but I believe it was filmed on a very slow Kodak stock 50asa if I remember correctly. Very strong color.
I saw this projected on film during it’s initial run and it looked amazing. |

Very interested to see how this will look if QT is involved in it, as he is absolutely not a fan of HDR. I personally love the look of the OUATIH 4K with it's modest HDR usage but the "max. brightness & pop guys" will definitely start a big cry again I guess.
