‘The Gorge’ Review: Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller in an Apple TV+ Sci-Fi Romance That’s Too Sweet for Its Own Good
The actors play snipers tasked with guarding a mysterious ravine in this feature also starring Sigourney Weaver and directed by Scott Derrickson.

"Biggest surprise of 2025" It's mid-February. What's the point of such proclamations? I hate YouTube movie bros with a passion.

The Gorge Review: Not Even Anya Taylor Joy Can Save This One
Decent FX can’t save this average sci-fi flick which chooses to focus more on romance than the intriguing horrors of the chasm.

Genuine question, why don't the site reviews for streaming movies indicate what platform they're on? Seems like basic review information.

If I am reading your question correctly, the film's poster graphic at the top of the site review notes Apple TV+.

Gotcha. I didn't study the poster art before reading the review. Only mentioned it because I've noticed the same thing on other Netflix and Amazon reviews on this site.

Yeah. Saw the trailer recently. Reviews or not, this one has an interesting and cheeky concept that I'm willing to jump in to see how they do it. Derrrickson is a decent director and the actors are solid. Sounds like something that can work.

To me most stuff on Apple TV has been a miss. I have had it for a few years now. Why do I have it if most of the stuff isn't very good?

I don't pay for it so that is one good thing about it.

This however I am looking forward to reviews be dammed.

It won't win any awards for story or acting but its solid fun to watch I'd pay 9 bucks for a month of apple to watch it again but yeah almost all the stuff they've put out has been a HUGE miss.

This isn't that in my op

Most of their original movies haven't been great, but they have some really good TV shows.

Anyway, I thought The Gorge was quite entertaining. Doesn't hurt that I'm a fan of Anya Taylor-Joy ever since The Queen's Gambit, and she doesn't disappoint in this less demanding role either.
