Went for the 3rd and likely last viewing tonight this time with my younger brother. Took him a bit to get into the movie but he really loved the action especially at the end. Really wish this could get a 3d blu ray somehow. Looking forward to the sequel and other future 3d movies from India.

What's up with this supposed push to boycott this film? I see many news reports on it when I searched for information about Part 2: Dev, but none really explain what the aim of the boycott is. Best I've found is that some consider the film to be blasphemous?
![]() I wonder if that could explain why the showings for it here have been so underpopulated. Darn shame if it's a movement with traction, as the VFX in this are punching so far above their weight and JCam will really have to step it up if he wants a shot at the coveted Best 3D of 2022 award ![]() |

Bollywood stars have been using hard drugs in parties and such, and use of drugs is illegal in India, but even then they've been getting away with it and avoiding punishments some way or the other. Apparently Sushant had documented all of it and wanted to show the truth to the public, before he was murdered. That's one more reason behind the movement. Also there's a section of the audience in India that is extremely religious and if they see anything that is not in line with their religious beliefs, they will literally come down on the film and boycott it. The film itself deals with Hindu culture and history and there's some stuff which is modernised and that doesn't line up with their beliefs so that's an instant red flag for that section of the audience. So, to sum it up, stuff's crazy in India. ![]() Anyway despite all this the film is a success and the director has revealed that Part Two: Dev will be eyeing a Christmas 2025 release. ![]() |
