I’m in the U.S. and I saw that this was available from Amazon at a slightly higher price (DiabolikDVD and OrbitDVD were out of stock). I pulled the trigger and it arrived on Sunday (it appears to be sold out now). Amazon, of course, shipped this in a bubble mailer and my copy has crushed corners. I’m happy to have scored a copy, but it is frustrating. I knew I was in trouble as soon as I saw the bubble mailer.

One of my pet peeves with Amazon. Some folks (myself) received it in a box. The extras such as video interviews, etc. don't look quite as good as from the Studio Canal UK release but I'm in it more for the episodes, commentary tracks, etc.

Thumbs up Avengers Arrival

Greetings to all of my fellow The Avengers enthusiasts! My copy of The Avengers: The Emma Peel Collection (1965-1967) - Imprint Television #3 just arrived here at The Kitty Cat Condo™ courtesy of Diabolik DVD via the USPS. I pre-ordered this on October 1st for $135 and this was my very first purchase from the Diabolik website. I'm anxious to dive into this Blu-ray set -- as are my two cats, Chico & Harpo -- but I won't have the time to view any of this classic series until well after the holidays (too many family obligations). Be seeing you!

As a long-time fan I really want this new set. I'd like to order it before they sell out, but I need to see some reviews of the PQ. Frustrating...

PQ is satisfying to me, but I don't have the highest standards. I have randomly perused the extras (Rigg speaking at the BFI is awesome) and watched a couple of episodes (including previously lost episode from the Ian Hendry series).

Quality seems about the same as the Studio Canal region B set for series 4. Some of the extras were obviously ported directly from that set, such as image galleries.

If you're a big enough of a fan, I wouldn't sit on this. Region free, lots of extras, the complete run of Peel episodes and limited to 1500 copies. For $135 USD, I would consider this a bargain, even if it was that cost for a US-produced set.

From the promo material:
"Collectable double-sided Hardbox packaging LIMITED to 1500 copies"
I hope this means there will be another, less expensive release. I love the Emma Peel seasons, but I'll take a chance and wait.

I'm down to next to final bluray and only one episode had a questionable quality. The extras are superb and this is a must own.

I'm working my way through this release. All the episodes look and sound great. There are also an absurd number of extras. If you are a fan of The Avengers, this release is a must-have purchase.

eng subs? Are you listening to the English language? The two emma Peel sets from Germany have both German and English soundtracks, and if I remember properly also English/German subs. Some of the extras included in those set unfortunately are in German only.

yeah, the only drawback are the extras are only in german, and there arent that many extras to speak of, so that's why I'd be interested in the imprint release.

I notice scenes that resemble John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN. So Carpenter must have been inspired by this series.

Body flying over the balcony and you assume a dead body will be there and not.
A look from the window outside and you see a man standing near a bush far away.

I am up to the color episodes, and they look incredible!
The colors stand out like technicolor old movies!
Never noticed the episodes looking this good ever on tv.

It is because they didn't. If you like these type of TV shows from that era I can thoroughly recommend the bluray set of "Department S". It looks equally stunning and they are a fun series to watch. Unfortunately that set needs to be imported from the UK.
