I received a response re. me checking back re. the replacement another time.

Außerdem haben wir entschieden, die Filme ROCKY V und ROCKY VI für den deutschen Markt nicht herauszubringen, da wir nicht 100%ig sicher sein können, dass die uns angelieferten Master einwandfrei wären.

What's interesting is that it says Warner Bros. at the end now. Previously it always said "Ihr Universal Pictures Team", so maybe they really had Warner answer instead. Which would be totally understandable actually. It would also explain why it took longer than the last times.

Anyway, I will just have to accept the explanation re. the original audio, they are also offering to return it till 31.12.2024 (I guess both jpc and Saturn would have to accept it) and above all they do apologize, which I can only accept then. So it is what it is and I'll just stick with the German steels now.

Appreciate their transparency on the audio acknowledging the failed attempt to 'artificially digitally rework' but why couldn't they have just utilized the LD tracks and call it a day? Of course, this question can be asked for countless titles.

Contacted WB UK today and got a reply half an hour later to say they will send the replacement discs in 4 - 6 weeks.

That was easier than expected.

The Universal/Warner Germany crap just reached a new dimension since according to a comment here: https://blu-ray-rezensionen.net/rocky-4k-uhd/

even the supposedly unfixable blechern German audio of 1 and 2 is fixed now! What a joke. I have my money back for 2, 3 and 4 already (thx @ jpc!) and am stil trying to get my money back for part 1 from fooking Saturn (don't buy there) as well, but the way Universal Germany is shitting on German customers is just unbelievable. Having said that, Warner US also sends replacements to German customers for non-US discs, but the German support is the biggest joke ever.

Warner US handed over international requests to Technicolor UK even for US set buyers (like me). I received a newly sealed UK replacement copy. Not complaining as I never thought they’d fix anything in the first place.

Well, I am complaining. About Universal/Warner Germany. Because: Universal said there will be replacements and kept saying so for over a fooking year, then they said there won't be replacements and the audio (which they only later clarified as the German audio) isn't fixable, then there actually are replacements in the US, then, via contacting Warner US, Warner even sends replacements to German customers and now the replacements even come with fixed German audio. And not a furz is heard from Universal/Warner Germany in regard to their bs. Fooking unbelievable.

Me having trouble getting my money back for part 1 from Saturn is, according to Saturn, also due to Universal obvioulsy not responding to them. Mind you that Universal told me that I can return it until the end of 2024. What a shit show.

At the end of the day, even if I don't get my money back from Saturn, I will get 1-6 for less then what I got back for 2-4 already, but, as I said, what a shit show...

I eventually also received the refund for Rocky I from Saturn this morning (and will send them a thank you and adjust my trustpilot entry later today). So I have my money back for all 4 faulty steels now. And have Italy 1-6 @90 EUR pre-ordered. So that didn't turn out that bad after all and saved me quite some money (I paid 125 EUR or so for 1-4...). Might even switch to Australia, because I could get the 1-6 set even cheaper from there. Australia appears to come without the 7th bonus disc though (EDIT: Italy might as well, but with the Aussie one I saw 6 discs stated somewhere already; I believe it was Sanity). And jb-hifi was rather slow last time and I don't trust their packaging. Guess I'll stick with Italy and deal with some Italian.

Someone also posted this response from WB yesterday and WB really still officially basically says FU to people who bought the German release:

OK, you can return it, as I did, but I also experienced what "fun" that was with Saturn (with jpc it wasn't a problem at all mind you). And having said that, I still think that all buyers of the German/Austrian/Swiss release should do exactly this, i.e. return it.

It's clear as mud above exactly what's wrong with these discs. Someone just started posting in September about a German replacement program.

I seem to recall the issues being with the audio, especially on the second film?

Is there a replacement program in place for this UK disc of the first film?

1) Send an email to wbcustomerservices@vantiva.com saying that you are aware of errors on the first four Rocky 4Ks and the replacement programme for them.

2) Include a copy of your proof of purchase and the name and address you would like any replacements sent to.

3) Sit back and wait.

You may get a corrected, new and sealed boxset of all four films as a replacement instead of the two individual titles you mention. I sent them a copy of my proof of purchase for Rocky III only, yet received a new boxset of all four films in replacement, and I know others did too.

I reckon sending out a new boxset instead of sorting individual releases is a lot easier for them, and I look on their generosity as their way of apologising for the buggeration. Great customer service.
