I kind of expect them to announce the blu-ray to come out in May when Fear comes back to AMC. That’s my thinking. I’ve got it ordered through Bullmoose.

Edit. Apparently according to Scott Gimple Tales of the Walking Dead will get a season 2! There’s a Collider article about the future of it and he said probably next year. This year they are busy producing the end of Fear and the three existing character spin-offs.

This now has a listing on Target.com, so maybe that means it's actually happening. No release date listed there either though.

Hoping that this and Target now having listings are good signs that this is now coming.

Looks like it’s being delayed long enough to work as a kind of promotional tie-in to TWD: DEAD CITY.

It sounds like there won't be a second season. This morning AMC announced a digital short form series,"More Tales From the TWDU, "

https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/...-scott-gimple/

You could try reading your own link: ”Gimple has said a potential second season of Tales would bring back old characters who lived and died on The Walking Dead, revealing in a recent interview that Tales "didn't end on this cliffhanger where you've gotta get back to that. It's an anthology show. So, I'm hoping that we can get back to it, but it's probably gonna be catch-all as catch can, as far as within all the other shows.”

Those comments were from an interview about two or three months back and felt like at the time,"a maybe" they'll be a second season but the focus is on the three new shows.

I got the impression from the news yesterday of More Tales From the TWDU digital series, that this is replacing Tales. Instead of a proper second season, we're getting this instead.

That’s not the impression I’m getting from that article. There’s a big difference between “there won’t be a second season” and “there won’t be a second season for a while”. There’s nothing in that article that states the digital series is a replacement for TALES OF THE WALKING DEAD.

To be fair,I read two other articles at the same time I saw the first article that gave me the impression as well.

https://bleedingcool.com/tv/the-walk...rm-series-set/

Quote:
More Tales from the TWDU (working title): The six-part short-form scripted series is set in an around the TWD universe, with TWDU creative head Scott Gimple spearheading the project. While it wasn't made clear in the initial announcement, it would appear that this would take the place of a second season of the anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead but that hasn't been confirmed or denied at the time of this writing.
https://screenrant.com/more-tale-fro...-announcement/

Quote:
While three upcoming spinoffs will focus on characters from the original show, chief creative officer Scott Gimple has expressed interest in returning to existing anthology spinoff Tales of the Walking Dead in the future.

Now, ComicBook.com reports that AMC has announced More Tales From the TWDU, the working title for a second anthology series set in The Walking Dead universe. Similar to Tales of the Walking Dead, the new series will feature six episodes that will tell stories within the expanding zombie TV franchise. Gimple will be developing the project for AMC's Content Room, which specializes in digital original series. The series will differ from Tales of the Walking Dead by having short-form stories within the episodes.

More Tales From the TWDU acts as a follow-up to Tales of the Walking Dead, which showed different survivors and their journeys at different points in the zombie apocalypse.
I hope you're right because I would like a second season of Tales.

Okay,Best Buy has a pre-order page up now with a release date 06/27/2023 for $19.99

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tales-o...skuId=35738783

But there is another older pre-order page that says [Blu Ray],release date Not Announced for $17.99 also still up.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tales-o...skuId=35738792

My pre-order which was made on 1/2/23(I canceled the old pre-order from late last year before re-pre-ordering on 1/2) is linked to this page.

Also Target's page for Tales Of The Walking Dead now has the Release date: Jun 27, 2023 up for $17.99.

https://www.target.com/p/tales-of-th...9/-/A-89008249

The DVD page says that it's $19.99(also releasing on 6/27).S I'm assuming of the two Best Buy pages, the first one with the release date for $19.99 is the DVD and the second one that says Blu Ray, release date Not Announced and the one my pre-order is connected to for $17.99 is indeed the Blu Ray page.

Weird that the DVD is selling for more than the Blu Ray.

No active pre-order page up yet at Amazon.

It's up for pre-order now at Amazon with the new 6/27 release date.

https://www.amazon.com/Tales-of-the-...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Again, interesting that the Blu Ray($17.99) is cheaper than the DVD($19.99)

I know this release was questionable at one point, but my pre-order from Target just shipped, so I guess it is actually happening.

Yeah, mine shipped from BullMoose.com yesterday. 50/50 chance I’ll have it in hand by lunchtime tomorrow.
