Ah, nailed it. You're right—the cheaper one is Region A, the more expensive one is Region B.

Have only seen Show Me Love from the films in this set.

Considering picking up this set as I did enjoy Show Me Love and would like to explore more of the work of Lukas Moodysson.

Has anyone seen more of the films in here? Just wondering if they are similar in the sense that if you enjoyed one you probably would get something from all of them. Or if he is one of those whose work is quite different?

£55 is quite a lot but the set looks good so interested in the opinion of anyone that has seen some or all of the films here.

If all the films are as good if not better than Show Me Love it will definitely be a pickup for me!

Lilya 4-Ever is an incredible movie. It's really dark and depressing, though, nothing like Show Me Love.

The Criterion Channel has We Are the Best! available for streaming through the end of January. I just watched it and thought it was a blast. Based on the strength of that and Show Me Love (or its more provocative and less forum-friendly title F*cking Åmål), I'm down for this set despite not having seen the other titles.

I don't have the criterion channel unfortunately. Can I ask how much the music features in this please? I am not a big fan of films about music to be honest. If it is using music as a backdrop to explore something about the lives and relationships between people that is fine, but if it is mostly about the music with plenty of musical interludes I don't think I will enjoy it too much.

The music element of We Are the Best! is moderate (prominent, but not too strong in my judgment). There are multiple rehearsal scenes, but very few full-on performances;
[Show spoiler]one song in the middle and a brief show at the end
, and there are a few times you hear songs as source music. The punk music and culture is central to the veneer, but the heart of the movie is the friendship of the girls.

The assessment of Frat Slobs from one of the movie critics in

would apply here. "I found it a light, frothy soufflé of youthful exuberance."

"Together" is a comedy. Very different from both "Show Me Love" AND "Lilya-4-Ever".

I think I might order this set from Bull Moose. There are a few movies i have wanted to see over the years. I'm just worried about how wide the box is... I have very serious storage space issues living in a tiny apartment. A 200 page hardcover book inside scares me. I have no space for books, just blu-rays lol.

My set came this morning! I can't wait to get home, open it, and explore! Lilya-4-ever is one of those Region 2 DVDs I picked up in Sweden and I've been waiting to upgrade for ages, and We Are The Best I remember loving, both of which I saw at CIFF.

vidcaps would be more than welcomed. I have a Blu-Ray of "Lilya-4-Ever" which is quite good in terms of picture quality (with film grain); whilst Blu-Ray of "****ing Amal" looks waxy like it was shot on video (whereas I think it was shot on argentic).
I sincerely hope that Arrow did his own restoration.

Mine arrived today, but I don't have a BD drive at the moment, so I won't be able to take caps. I'll try to give an assessment once I watch the discs soon.

I didn't have time to watch any of the movies all the way through, but I popped in FU*KING AMAL, and it's gloriously grainy, as it should be.

TOGETHER also looks beautifully filmic.

LILYA 4-EVER, my favorite film of his, looks amazing too.

Here are the details on the transfers:

got the set today and the 1st thing I noticed when I held the set, is how heavy it is. I never had the original pressing of the Boro set from arrow, but I imagine the weight is similar to that box set.

From 1st glance, I think the set appears to be quality

the 2 BR I have ****ing Amal and Lily-4-Ever are the Swedish blu-ray. Whilst Lily-4-Ever looks nice with HD details and a film-like texture (fine grain), ****ing Amal looks like a video transfer, waxy; whereas I'm almost sure it was shot on argentic.
I also have "Together" which reminds me the Wes Anderson movies for the kids, HD and film texture is there. Looks very nice.
I wonder if Arrow "remaster" these ****ing Amal and Lily-4-Ever Swedish restoration/transfer (asking for their "untouched" HD Master) or if the result is very close to the Swedish blu-ray.

Arrow did, indeed, remaster them. They tweeted about this.

The Arrow BDs are based off the original scans, before they were ruined in the final masters used in Sweden.

The Arrow discs are also the proper 1080p 24fps, not 1080i/50 25fps, like the Swedish discs.

Fu*king Amal looks gorgeous, as I posted above, beautifully grainy.

thanks; I will order it from France if it's not too late. Your comments are enthusiasts perhaps it's not necessary at this point to wait for vid caps.
Regarding "****ing Amal" I have read Arrow info about "restoration" posted above : shot in 16mm, and "transferred" to 35 mm for a theatrical release(this reminds me some Eric Rohmer's movie such as "Pauline à la plage"); but whilst the Eric Rohmer's blu-ray transfer (Arrow or Potemkin) has a nice grain film texture, my complain about the Swedish Blu-Ray was that it looks digital and a bit waxy.
I'm glad that there is an improvement.

Can’t recall the last time they’ve specified a set or limited edition. I think 8000 might’ve been thrown around for the first Shaw set, but it still seems ever present for all the price drops it’s had.

This set is one of my favorites from arrow in a long while. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if they included the documentary he made as well titled terroristor since every other full length is in the box set

Has anyone ordered this from Bull Moose? If so, has yours shipped yet?

I'm still waiting for mine to ship, and they usually ship most pre-orders on the Wednesday prior to release day.
