I Have a 30" CRT HDTV (1080i) hooked up with HDMI. I see a slight improvement, but most of the improvement is in color and then in REALLY dark scenes.

I forgot to mention that our viewing distance is about 8 feet away from the TV. In some movies/scenes there is a great improvement in clarity, but for most things (i.e. catalog titles) the difference is in color vibrance.

My hat is off to you sir!

I am generally lazy, and would have tried to find a short-cut. This should win the Poll of the Year contest.

Thanks!

50" 1080i pionner

I sit 13'6" Wish I could sit closer but I have a funky room.
It still looks good. Not much of a differance from when I used to sit about 6' away. Just on Call of duty 4 the people are harded to see, but not to much.

Phew! That I think wins the award for biggest poll of the decade!!!

My viewing is about 11-12' feet back on a 32" HDTV, and with BD it is a huge improvement compared to my old DVDs.

To make it quicker to find your choice:

The first 20 options are all No Improvement
Options 21-40 are all Slight Improvement
Options 41-60 are all Substantial Improvement
The last 20 options are all Huge Improvement.

Then you can find your set size and viewing distance.

True, but it was a great mode to have when you wanted to maximize the available recording time/space as I did most often. PQ notwithstanding of course.
