Never heard of this film before but it sounds twisted and bizarre enough to appeal to me so ordered! Ossie Davis fan as well.

It’s great but don’t go in expecting it to be like an Evil Dead flick. Bruce isn’t as over the top, which you might except because he’s playing Elvis. Ossie Davis is fantastic too. I was very surprised this one got a 4k but am very happy about it.

Once you've watched it, give the audio commentary with the 'King' a listen. Bruce is absolutely hilarious.

If you like Ossie Davis, I highly recommend Sidney Lumet's 'The Hill'. You're in for an absolute treat, brilliant acting and great dialogue.

This movie is very emotional. It's got so much heart. It's highly original and funny, but it's also very sad in spaces. Campbell's performace is out of this world. Highly recommended.

Looks like they're finally selling Scream Factory titles again after spending the better part of 2022 having a moratorium of selling them on their site.

True, but I would say if someone like's Bubba Ho-Tep at all (I really don't) they will love John Dies at the End imo it does the intentional weirdness thing way better.

Not a fan either. Saw it when it first came out didn't care for it, it played at my local drive in last summer, felt about the same. To me, feels like a 45minute movie stretched far beyond what it has to tell. Love Bruce though, and I get it's a cult favorite, just not for me.

Just picture Incident On and Off a Mountain Road (His Masters of Horror episode) being movie length it would have the same problems I think. Bubba would have been perfect for that type of format. Tbh a lot of films have this exact same problem it's wild to think how much better some things get when they're shorter.

Nah, I hate John Dies at the End but love Bubba. I was very disappointed. Bubba has heart, and if you've ever delt with the elderly in a facility or what not it hits much deeper.
