May as well "de-shelf" my Superman BD set right now in anticipation of this new 4K release. The original DVD set in the tin case was pretty awesome and will be hard to top. I suspect they won't even try to top it stylistically. BTW, I don't see the point of the Donner Cut being included here. They should've released Superman Returns instead. Brandon Routh was a great Supes IMO.

Fun fact: I learned recently that my old boss grew up with Richard Donner.

Well hopefully Superman Returns gets a stand alone release. I hope the same for Supergirl as well.

Not too surprising that Superman Returns is not included in the box set I always figured if Superman Returns where to get a 4K UHD standalone Release most likely it would be an upscale. As long as we get a redo of the Superman The Movie Theatrical 4K UHD I think this 4K box set of all 4 Christopher Reeve Superman films will be well worth in 2023.

I believe I read where the first film in the upcoming box set will have a remastered transfer.

Probably unlikely, but hoping the alternate cuts for the first two are in 4K as well. For whatever reason, the 3-hour version of Superman is my preferred cut of that film.

I made the mistake of getting the Superman Blu set, and never touched III and IV. Not gonna make that mistake again. I'll wait.
