Looking forward to this release. The science is complete fantasy but it is a fun and attractive looking film.

I dug out the DVD to watch the bonus features last night and ended up watching the movie, I gotta say that's a pretty damned good transfer. Good detail, no overload of EE like they usually did for DVD, there's even what looks like grain. And I am not exaggerating when I say there's every chance that the DVD will have betterer compression than the UHD!

Oh, and I still love this goofy film. Sod the science, it's just a bit of good old-fashioned apocalyptic fun.

I remember enjoying this one. I will probably wait for a price drop because I am bad with money.

Any film that has humans sacrificing themselves for humanity is always fun. A world full of Karens, drunks and methheads is worth saving dammit!

It still rotates. It's just not rotating faster than the surface anymore. "Reversing" would mean it starts rotating more slowly.

Thought this was going to be a Charlie Kaufman flick about some kind of Fantastic Voyage into a piece of fruit. Somewhat disappointed.

They played the ol LOTR get as much money as you can trick why not release it with the blu ray last year Literally out a year apart... Bought mine finally a couple months ago.. Like fine the core has stopped turning I guess but such a fast double dip. It's obviously not the best in the disaster ones like Volcano, Dante's Peak, Deep Impact, The Day After Tomorrow. I probably missed one :P

and possibly rotted and cracked. I'm finding more and more of my dvds rot. More than Laserdiscs. At least with laserdiscs I can play them thru . DVD's NO. (2 BD's of late same thing as DVD's NO. Laserdiscs only if it's badly warped

I was tempted to get one outside the country but didn't $26 wasted money.. I'm just watching to say I watched it on blu ray before 4K came out PS : could never figure out where amongst the birds the director stuck the millennium falcon in. (it was in the commentary track) more or less This movies been the Joke on Disaster movies since it came out. Till supposedly the core stopped , like literally 20 yrs later now yall talking about it lol. I didn't care I'm here for a bit of entertainment.

Surprisingly, I like the 4K artwork more than the original one sheet poster art, with the designer incorporating some design elements into the new layout.

If Paramount decides not to go with the one sheet poster art for their Deep Impact 4K, I'd like to see the same graphic designer selected to work on it. I'm sure he/she would produce some striking new art concepts.

I know SF released it on Blu-ray a year ago, but especially since Paramount hadn't even bothered to release it on Blu-ray themselves.

So a barebones disc for special features. Looks like I’ll be grabbing the Shout disc for those!
