I do protect them. I'm careful with them
I've just decided that the time has come to invest in some protectors. Just in case... I'm also getting a bit clumsy

I’ve been using the brand Malko for a while now and I’ve been pleased with their sleeves.

I also use steelbookcentral protectors. I like ones where the spine is not covered/protected, so it still looks good on the shelf. But it still prevents any scratches from sitting next to other steels. It's a good happy medium for me.
