Also with the way the Sox and Yanks have stacked their farm systems it may be a while before the Rays ever have a chance unfortunately.
All baseball needs is a salary cap and all this sh1t would get straightened out and the same teams wouldn't keep winning.

my top 5 are

Alex Rodriguez 99
Albert Pujols 98 (he had an off year last year, I hate it when games penalize great hitters over off years and then they are completely underrated for an entire season in videogame land, when in real life they are hitting the ball well.)
Ryan Howard 98
Matt Holiday 96
Maglio Ordonez 94 (tied)
Hanley Ramierz 94(tied)

Salary Cap will never happen

top 5 pitchers are

1. Sabathia 97
2. Beckett 96
3. Peavy 92
4. Santana 91 (only because he had an off year)(Unlike what you said^^^his skills definetly show diminishment, not right away, but he cant throw his slider like he could in 04, 05, 06)(It would be unfair to hype him up because hes on a better team, thats doesnt make him better)
5. Wang 89

Agreed.

AL West does have a tough Angels team and I expect the A's to be strong. I'm not ready to give too much credit to the Mariners or rangers just yet....

we'll see.

I like it.
Tigers always struggle with Santana, but maybe he'll be unable to start the first game of the series and we'll only have to facve him once. *fingers crossed*

Mets made a hell of a deal to get him there. It should pay off big time (if he gets steady run support)

whoa, your kidding right? The A's? what did they gain? Besides who they got for Haren which was decent but not anything that would make them good now. The Mariners (if healthy) have the best rotation in the West, AL and NL

I'm not saying the A's will contend for the division, but they made some good moves from what I've heard and I think they will fair well. Seattle seems to be relying heavily on young, unproven players. They may do well, but until they show what they can do I'm not ready to slob on them. Like I said, we'll see soon enough.

Im not set on the Mets. Yeah they have Santana, but which one? 2005 Santana, or 2007 Santana? Pedro is a HUGE ?. Maine is only in his 2nd season. Duque is 49 years old. Perez is the closest to a lock. Their lineup is great, but they lack serious leadership. I think Wright has to make a serious step up and get their players in line.

The Tigers Yankees and Red Sox all have equal cases to get to the World Series. As a Yankee fan, this is the first season since 2004 (the ALCS choke) I feel we have a great team to go all the way. With the young meshing the the veterans, I think it mixes very well.

I honestly think this Schilling injury is a sign of things to come. Look at 2005 after they won the WS. 1st round exit. Am I guaranteeing it? No, im just saying, I think the Red Sox finally get hit with the injury bug starting with Schilling and ending with Beckett and his every other year 40 day DL blisters.

I think it will be the Tigers and Yankees in the ALCS and the Yankees will win in 6 or 7 against Kenny Rogers, the same man that single handedly destroyed the Yankees in the ALDS in 2006. I think Verlander comes up big in game 1 and 5 but everyone else struggles.

I think its Yankees and Dodgers in the WS and the Yankees take it in 6. Joe Torre makes a huge return to Yankee stadium and the Yankees close it out right. It would be fitting to have Yankees Mets, but its highly unlikely. I see the Yankees, but the Mets are just a huge question until they prove otherwise

Yankees def. Angels in 4
Tigers def. Red Sox in 5

Mets def. Diamondbacks in 4
Dodgers def. Cubs in 4

Yankees def. Tigers in 7

Dodgers def. Mets in 6

Yankees def. Dodgers in 5

AL MVP Alex Rodriguez 47 hrs 138 RBI .309
runner up Vlad Guerrerro 38 hrs 122 RBI .312

AL CY Young CC Sabathia 19-5 3.27 ERA
runner up Justin Verlander 20-7 3.87 ERA

NL CY Young Jake Peavy 19-6 3.65 ERA
runner up Carlos Zambrano 19-7 3.89 ERA

AL ROY Evan Longoria 10 hrs 76 RBI .301
runner up Joba Chamberlain 13-3 3.21 ERA

Haha wow we have some baseball fans! nice! Ok first off the NL West is gonna be the toughest pitching division in the league. Just look at the rotations of the padres, dodgers, giants, dbacks and rockies(so-so) The brew crew lost their closer and dont even think linebrink will do well his time was in SD but thats it. They will get beat out by the cubs if the cubs can get some good pitching from their other 4 starters. Zambrano cant do it all ya know? Hahaha but this will be good year for baseball. The gay steroids thing is starting to fade away and MLB 08 is a month away. Oh I think Peavy deserves something better than 92. Come on he received the Cy Young award for 07!

Dude...I am keeping this until the end of the season just to see.

I think you are spot on with the Schilling thing. If he is done for the whole year the Sox are going to struggle. Beckett can only do so much. Sign of things to come? Definite possibility.

0 chance the Yankees could beat the Tigers in a playoff series. No chance at all. Tigers pitching staff is light years better than the Yankees, and as great as the Yankees batting order is, Tigers will score more runs. Parade in Motown come October (or November).

There's my Michigan buddy. Way to represent J!

Tigers have a real strong chance this year. We are going to score 1000+ runs. Even with Jonesy as our closer we should be ok.

Well with the Bedard trade, Roberts basically just booked himself a ticket to Chicago. I think Lilly will show himself this year. The NL is going to be way better than the past years. These teams have all improved, even a little will go a long way

Mets-Santana
Cubs- Fukudome, soon to have Roberts
Giants- Rowand, Lincecum and Cain for a whole year
Diamondbacks- Haren
Braves- Glavine, Kotsay
Dodgers- Jones(who will have a breakout year) Kuroda
Astros- Valverde, Tejada

You also have the Phillies and Rockies, with the Brewers and Cardinals lurking and the Padres still a strong team, and the Reds wont be too bad.

The rotation RIGHT NOW is better than the Yankees. By May, the Yankees will jump ahead, quote me on that. Chamberlain and Hughes are the real deal. Chamberlain didnt blow away people on luck, and neither was Hughes 6 1/3 inning no hitter. Kennedy is a darkhorse in the Yankees rotation. Mussina is in a contract year, and if he doesnt want to play for the Pirates or retire, he has to come through. You can say what you want about Pettitte and the steroid scandel, but he is one of the most poised pitchers in the league behind Wang. Wang had 1 bad game in the playoffs, and his record on 3 days rest showed he would struggle, so I wasnt mad or surprised. He is good for 17-20 wins and Pettitte 15-17. Besides ARod your lineup is better, but with Joe G taking control, this will be a whole differant Yankee team come October. Im not guaranteeing the Yankees beating the Tigers, its just a prediction. You cant hold the last 3 seasons against the Yankees because at least they were there. Right now teams are ranked to me like this

1. Red Sox (until about a month in, they are automatically #1)
2. Tigers
3. Yankees
4. Angels
5. Indians
6. Mets
7. Cubs
8. Dodgers
9. Mariners
10. Diamondbacks

We could have 6 or more players bat over .300 this year. Easily. Offense = wins. And it all starts at the top of the order with my man Curtis Granderson. Saweeeet!

Zumaya will probably be out for the season. Im excited about the season, yeah im a Yankee fan, but im a baseball fan first. Im not a typical bandwaggon Yankee fan and thinks only of the Yankees. I think this will be the most even matched season in a long time. 3 teams in the AL battling for the best team. And about 5-7 teams in the NL battling for #1

Maybe so, but you are counting on kids. Remember we had the Joba of two seasons ago (Zumaya), and he was going to be great last year but spent most of the season on the DL. That kind of thing happens when counting on youngsters. Same thing goes for Hughes. Tigers roll out 5 established big league pitchers who have all won at least 16 games. And with Dontrelle being new to the AL, no telling how good he is going to be (especially the first time through the league).
