True, but there are penises still glimpsed in the movie as well as full frontal female nudity and explicit sex scenes/sexual content(
[Show spoiler]orgies and adult breastfeeding)
...in the R rated version. The penis shot in question is said to be pornographic in terms of
[Show spoiler] showing ejaculation(it's a prosthetic btw, not the actors real dick). We still see semen splattering to the ground in the R rated version btw, so it's not like we don't know what's going on in the scene.

So see the movie in either version and your guaranteed a twisted experience.
I’ve read that besides the fully explicit hand job scene, there is also additional gore shots such as Skarsgard’s body after he’s executed for the first time, Skarsgard’s head after he caves it in, more orgy shots, etc. I personally find the uncut version of Possessor to be vastly superior to the theatrical so I assume its the same with this one. They both only have a difference of about 90 seconds but sometimes that can make a big difference imo.

I saw the cut version at a multiplex when Infinity Pool first came out and saw the uncut version last night at a single screen arthouse/grindhouse theatre (thank god for indie theatres!).

I didn't think the close-up penis shots added all that much to that scene, to be honest. I like how the cut scene is just an extended hold on the actors' faces. For me part of the fun of Mia Goth in this movie is her ravenous, penetrating eyes. She's like a shark circling prey. So the extended hold on the faces actually kind of enhances the scene for me. YMMV.

The rest of the uncut stuff I'm glad is there. A few more lingering shots of gore. I already thought the trippy drug orgy scene was beautifully photographed/edited combined with the score, but now a bit less of it is blurred. I could have sworn I caught a couple of brief flashes of penetration, but obviously those would have been stand-in performers and not the principal cast (if not faked entirely). So an already cool scene is even better uncut.

My personal favourite version would be a blend of the cut and uncut. Basically I'd just lose the ejaculating penis and keep everything else. That being said, if I could only have one version it would obviously be the uncut one, so I'm glad that's the Blu-ray I have on pre-order here in Canada.

Last year I saw X early on and loved it. It held up as one of my favourites of the year. History is repeating this year. Infinity Pool is my favourite so far, and we'll see if it stays in my Top 5 at the end of 2023 like X did in 2022. What an amazing couple of years for Mia Goth! Absolutely cannot wait to see Maxxxine.

Possessor was released unrated in theaters. I saw it at a major theater chain. The R version was created for home video unless some theatrical markets got the R version?

You're the only one here that's stanning for the censored version. I think it's fair to say most want the original film as originally intended.

The fact that the uncensored version won't be on video day one in the US speaks to the chances of it coming.

You yourself said you waited for the uncut version of Jason Goes To Hell, so why the hypocrisy?

I already mentioned the difference in terms of how much material was cut was the reason I avoided JGTH blu-ray until the uncut version was available. The difference in Infinity Pool sounds minuscule in comparison based on what got through in the R version. It's not butchered by any means like JGTH was back in the day for an R rating. That's the difference.

I am just hoping that the Decal release is uncut the runtime is 1 hr 58 mins on the Decal release and the Elevation release has its runtime as 1 hr 57 mins and on the Neon site says the Uncut runtime is 1 hr and 58 mins and the R rated runtime is 1 hr 57 mins

I was falling asleep (from exhaustion) on and off in the 2nd half so a lot of this stuff that was cut or not cut was pretty hazy for me anyway.

Hmm tough buy a $26 uncut Blu or wait for a potential UHD

If an uncut UHD is announced anywhere that Blu will plunge in value

i’m not sure how you think it didn’t do well. It far surpassed his fathers film Crimes of the Future at the box office.

It opened in 1,835 theaters and only charted at #10 before dropping like a stone and making a total of $5 million. Plus theater owners keep half of that, leaving them with a take of $2.5M. Getting a movie on that many screens and promoting a film even modestly is going to cost more than that. Not to mention whatever the production budget was.

FYI according to this site pictures of the back, the USA one is one minute LONGER that the canadian one so I can’t see the canadian one being the uncut one

They're rounding up and down on both releases. The movie runs somewhere between 117 and 118 minutes.

Amazon listing for UK release from Universal (they are releasing an uncut version in cinemas so hopefully Blu-ray will be uncut as well).

If we get the uncut version I'll probably pick it up. If not I'll just hold off for the 4K digital to be like $7.99 or something on iTunes.

Ok, I just watched this going in blind last night. What I want to know is ... how the hell did this thing get an R rating? LOL, it's like the "hardest" R I have ever encountered. I have seen many NC-17 movies that were tamer. I honestly thought that they made a mistake on the listing and gave us the Uncut version on the Neon disc.

Good movie. Incredible premise. I'm not so sure about the execution though. This is one of those movies I like, but not love, and will be revisiting it many times in the near future. Brandon will never be as good as his dad, but the dude has talent and has a great thing going on with Possessor and now this.

That was my reaction seeing it in theaters! Thank you. Everyone is flipping out about it being "cut" and acting like it's neutered in the extreme, when that couldn't be further from the truth.
