I've pre-ordered this anyway, but was just curious about the blu.

Currently streaming on the Criterion channel for those who want to check it out. I personally think it is an excellent film but I am also a big Frank Capra fan. I'm definitely excited for this upcoming 4K Blu-ray.

Just had my pre-order cancelled by Deep Discount with no specific reason given. Hopefully that doesn't mean there's a problem with getting the disc out. :-(

I'm very much looking forward to the 4K, and want to support the effort to get classics like this out there in the best possible quality. So, I just pre-ordered direct from ClassicFlix - which is probably better for them anyway...

But David from ClassicFlix, did think you should be aware this happened. You were kind enough to come and share your info about the disc, so want you to know if you're not getting the right support from retailers.

Same, just saw an email saying my pre-order was cancelled from ImportCDs.com. And agreed, hopefully this doesn't mean there's a problem with getting the disc out. Looks like it may have been delayed to April 30th. That's the new date showing for the BD at Amazon.

Also that Amazon price doesn't appear to reflect the normal price of a 4K boutique label release 🤔 I am going out on a limb here and going to guess this will be just a blu-ray.... which I am fine with.. to have a restored version of this classic is wonderful in and of itself!!!

Looks like ClassicFlix has stopped selling the 4K UHD version on their website as well, guessing we're going to get a cancellation confirmation pretty soon.

It was $27.99 directly on their site, and if it did get cancelled ro relegated to blu-ray only, that's the price it has always been when it was a 4K/blu combo.

I just got an email from Classic Flix. The 4K UHD was cancelled due to "extremely poor pre-sales".

I now wish I had pre-ordered, but I was waiting for reviews...

I had no idea that PREordering a release could impact a potential cancellation of that release. I was always planning to get this, but had no plans to preorder.

Yeah, same here. I was 100% going to buy this but didn't see any need to rush for a preorder. Disappointing news.

I just received the email as well. I also probably should have put in a pre-order, but I sometimes wait until nearer the release date to do so.

Oh well, I'll put in a pre-order for the Blu-ray now.

I can't afford to preorder everything I want especially when a lot of places charges preorder on order and not shipment. Sorry if that hurt sales projections for companies, but that is the reality for me.
