I thnk there's a very good chance of individual releases, at least for some of the titles. The movies all come in individual cases, with front and original art on reverse, so they're pretty much ready to go as a future individual release.

Since the reveal of the box size and number of movies, I've been puzzling over how the cases fit inside because the box appears longer than the usual "width" for 5 cases. Is it top loading instead of side loading?

Maybe the artwork is actually vertical and it’s laid on its side.

I think all you guys are way over thinking this. The box set looks big to show off the artwork. It’s not going to be a huge box. It will be a regular box set just like the House 1-4 set or the Sartana spaghetti western set.

The shape seems weird for that though. It almost seems like youd need to horizontally stack the BDs to get them to fit that shape or something.

I’m pretty sure that’s just the way they have it presented in this mock up.

Yeah, I believe the mockup for the Battles Without Honor and Humanity was wider looking than the actual case was too. So, I'm guessing it's just the width of the 5 cases, plus the book and swag envelope (or however that's encased).

The only thing I’m confused about is why they didn’t name this a volume 1. Unless they don’t plan to release the other movies from the previous empire pictures set. Which if that’s the case, that stinks.

I still kind of think the box looks that way because there's space for future titles they plan to release individually. Maybe there's a few titles they only have UK rights to (like From Beyond) and they didn't want to do a separate US and UK volumes with different titles.

It's just my guess. It could also be the other titles are getting 4K releases and they didn't want to mix formats.

The sheer size of this set relative to the amount of discs in it makes me want to wait for a non-LE version - that's some serious shelf space being taken up by stuff I would probably never even look at. Here's hoping a compact version isn't too far behind. I love the small versions of the HG Lewis set, and I liked that they released multiple versions all at once for those of us that just want the discs!

That's what I'm hoping for, individual releases, as Dolls is the only film in this boxset that I'm interested in (wasn't expecting an announcement so soon, after first reading about the film being shown at a festival (?), in a UK & Ireland thread either earlier this week or last week.

Never thought Arena would get an HD version! I've only seen that and Robot Jox but am totally buying this for those and looking forward to the other movies in the set.

It was already rumored Arrow may have Ghoulies 1 and 2. I could see them having Troll and Prison. A 4K of Re-Animator seems likely from them.

Catacombs, Eliminators, Ghost Town, Video Dead, Terror Vision, Vicious Lips and Crawlspace seem more like Vinegar Syndrome selections. Not sure if we could rule Kino out of having any of those either. I just don't see Arrow getting all of those otherwise I think we would have seem more in this set.

Metalstorm 3D appears to still be in print with Shout Factory.

James Flower says this about the size of the box.

Just the image, pretty sure it’s just a normal sized box on its side
