Added that there is no where to go. Unless you are going to fund the movie yourself, or have some rich friends. This is why it has been so important for people to embrace the independent market. But they don't so here we are.

Some are thinking it is is going to be a few months at least. I am scheduled to be at a License Expo in Vegas in June, just got word on a few meetings happening.

The problem as I see it is, the writers want more money because of streaming. But the studios are losing billions of dollars every year with their streaming SVODs. Paying the writers more will simply increase their losses.

The streaming thing is a no go to me. Yet there have been quite a few cases were writers are put into a position of working for free on rewrites and not having set end dates on projects. That is painful when you cannot move onto another project because you might be recalled.

They can stay on strike forever as far as I'm concerned.

Simplelist end to writers strike is going to be give them a percentage point of the backends. If your lucky and you write the next Avatar movie or Star Wars or hell even Avengers movie percentage off the backend is a good thing. Tom Cruise doesnt make 100 million off Top Gun 2 without the writer who wrote it.

Give the writers a 1% backend problem solved, you write the next billion dollar movie you make 10 million.

What is the status with the AI artificial intelligence robot software writing original stories as one of the Russo brothers suggested? I wonder if Producers will take this chance to replace writers with AI software instead to save money?

Some Producers are in the writers guild. That would be crossing the line. That would be on the studio and would open themselves up to lawsuits.

Joe Russo wasn't talking about AI writing original stories. He was talking about AI creating the entire damn movie entirely - you know, just like AI can currently create images? Except soon it will do so with entire movies or shows.

Some movies have absolutely abysmal writing (from a human!). Why not let AI take a crack at it. Can't be worse than the turds some writers put on paper. TV shows too. That Willow series had some of the worst writing I've ever had to witness. Whoever wrote those episodes needs to be fired, they don't deserve to be on strike.

There's a solution to that.

More focus and resources on less projects.

Streamers have been throwing out content like diarrhea. And it doesn't pay off most of the time.

Without opinions varying the ratio of good to bad has not changed. The share amount of product has. I would say again that every writers room need at least one person to challenge every idea and force it to be justified. If the entire team is agreeing on something you do not have a good team.

lol god the guild's proposals either got insulting counters or were just refused outright. Hope the union can pull through and get writers paid what they deserve

The streaming thing is part of the problem. The Studios do not want that data released. With all the leaks going on they are going to protect it like Fort Knox.

As with any union? If you have done any production work you would never write that.
