Is the German steelbook English friendly for rock and native Chinese scenes?

Everything everywhere I’ve read about the Leonine release indicates yes.

Mine arrived today. I think this edition is a true love letter to the film, and fans of the film. Bravo, A24.

The A24 edition runs at a lower bitrate than the Lionsgate release. I recognize bitrate isn’t everything (everywhere all at once…sorry) but I’m still shocked.

Ahh man. Part of the reason I bought this edition was because their exclusive editions have been some of the best presentations of that particular film. Marcel The Shell has very high bitrates and is a great encode. The original EEAAO release looks really good as well but I thought this might have a slight edge. Bummer.

Thats really surprising, are the colors at least noticeably different? or is this overall a "downgrade" from the Lionsgate release? Makes me wonder what the Green Knight 4K differences are as well

LMAO, not even close, it's been discussed at great lengths in the regular 4K thread. It has German text burned-in all over the place.

No, to the naked eye, they seem exceedingly similar to me. Bitrate isn’t everything, but it’s still kind of shocking. Their release of THE GREEN KNIGHT has a slightly higher bitrate than the Lionsgate disc (and is much higher than the UK’s EiV one): https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=255.

Did you take a look at the extras on the A24 release of EEAO? some of them might be in 4K like with The Lighthouse.

In general I think the reason for the lower bit rate is to accommodate the special features, which seem to be a bit more plentiful, quantity wise.

I have no doubt that’s true, but if it’s going to have to cause them to dip into lower bitrates than the mass market releases of their films, I encourage them to either take the David M. approach to compressing extra features or pony up for a second disc (which, at over $50 a set, they can afford).

Especially given the cost of these. They’re charging top dollar and I feel like they should be the definitive versions of these films. Excluding certain extras or providing a lesser quality presentation does not exactly encourage me to keep buying these. I’m sure this still looks great but it’s disappointing it’s not the same or better bitrates, and also that certain extras aren’t included. Was hoping I could give away my Lionsgate copy and just have 1 copy of this.

I'm glad someone posted a pic of these all together, because the review on this site says the following:

"While this release mimics the rather beautiful fabric covered slipcase that was featured in the other A24 exclusives linked to above, kind of annoyingly, none of the three is exactly the same height."

Not sure what that person got, but they're clearly not different sizes from each other.

Got mine today and the disc has a crack starting from the center. Same thing happened to my Midsommar disc. They need to use different hubs for these books.

Got my replacement disc in and its cracked even worse than the last one. Has anyone else had issues with these A24 book editions?
